Event Description

Learn about Giving Circles
May 15, 2008, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Indianapolis Marion County Library

Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) and Indy Hub invite you to give back to the community and learn about local philanthropic opportunities through participation in a “giving circle.” Giving circles, a fairly new trend, consist of a group of individuals who pool their funds to donate to their communities. Giving cirlces provide donors with a sense of engagment and awareness about the donation process. The group also serves to strenghten one’s passion to give and to promote philanthropy through group interaction and education.

Giving Sum, a new giving circle here in Indianapolis, will be present to share participation opporutnies and information.

This event will enable you to participate in a small scale version of a giving circle, and to learn more about them. It will be held at the Indianapolis Marion County Library on May 15, from 5:30 to 7:00. Light food and refreshments will be provided. A donation of $5 is expected, which will go towards the giving circle’s donation.
