Event Description

The Kreellers lean back into the past and offer a musical feast of the songs of their forefathers. With influences including The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem, the Dubliners, the Irish Rovers and many of the “come-all-ye” singers of the Irish Ballad Boom, brothers Paul & Derek put their own signature sound to Irish music often generations old. Whether rousing audiences in a neighborhood bar or a leading thousands in a tent-rattling song sessiùn at a monster festival, The Kreellers feature vocals that could charm the hinges off the gates of hell, accordion, guitar, bodhran, harmonica and mandolin, all combining majestically and often with great humor, in the telling of the timeless songs and stories that make The Kreellers show such a memorable, one-of-a-kind experience.

The deep passion for the song tradition that the boys grew up with in Metro Detroit has earned them a vocal and happy following in their eight years performing together, one that seems to follow them, wherever they go, pub to pub and festival to festival, and the boys are grateful and in awe of their loyal band of supportive followers. With two CDs under their belt, 2004’s Rebel Sons and 2006’s Last Call, and a third CD in the making, you can take the joy that makes The Kreellers such a heart pumping, foot stomping experience home with you. But it is in the live performance that the true unique experience that is The Kreellers performance really shines thru. Bantering with the crowd, firing up the deep love for the Irish culture, song and story, and passing on their love for Irish music and song, leaves audiences happy, engaged and so satisfied.

So give Paul & Derek a shout, bring them into your venue, and sit back, for the magic needs only a moment, the cue of the first strains of Fields of Athenry, Jug of Punch or God Save Ireland, to grab all present, and begin a life long love affair with The Kreellers.
