Event Description

The Bean Cup has been a tweetplace for many of us, huge supporters of Smaller Indiana, home of the Southside Smoosier Tech Club, wall space for any Artist who needed it, a stage for any Musician willing to sing, a free bite to eat for those who needed it, the last happy days for Mary Delong before she lost her life in an accident, an office for many of us with home businesses... and even a Church for some.

Come show your respect and thanks for Chris and Jason - who really built a special place here in central Indiana! Leave a big tip - it's your last chance.

From their website:
We have sad news to tell everyone. The Bean Cup will be closing. Our 3 year lease is up and we choose not to do business with our landlords anymore. It has been a very hard decision to make. The Bean Cup has been nothing but successful in so many ways, but it’s in our best interest to do this.

There are no words to express how thankful we are for such an amazing and awesome experience. Our hearts have been filled and our souls have been enriched by each and every one of you.

Come join us on our last party on October 30th - the band starts at 7PM. Or stop by our last day of business, October 31st , 2009. We will be open from 9a – 2p.

We won’t say “Good Bye”….We’ll say “See You Later” Chris, Jason, Olivia, Cristina, Hollie, Kaitlyn and Sarah

We will still be keeping the website active, so if you would like to be notified of what the future holds for us and The Bean Cup, you can sign up for updates to your email.

It was a bittersweet mix of enjoyable times with friends and sad emotions at the prospect of not being able to do it again at this location. I had an incredible beverage x 2! Gotta find out what it was! Chris and Jason are great folks who made me feel like a friend--not just another customer--from the first moment I entered the shop back in early 2009. It was certainly Chris and Jason who made this special place what it was, not the location. I'll be keeping an eye out for the Grand Re-opening elsewhere! THANK YOU for a wonderful experience in 2009.

I took several pictures today at the Bean Cup. Here's just one:

So sorry about this. This is similar to what happened to Renee's, the French cafe in Broad Ripple several years ago.

Spouse and I enjoyed the coffee and entertainment. Great place for coffee and meeting friends. Hope to see you soon in the future!

@Katalina I'm a bit biased because I spent so much time there, but you're dead on about the coffee. I'm really going to miss it - I truly believe it's the smoothest coffee I've ever had. I think The Bean Cup was the suppliers' only actual coffee house - they sold mostly to restaurants. I may have to order a case or two!

Wow. The Bean Cup was a great place. The atmosphere just made you want to be creative and the coffee was outstanding. We'll try to make it on the 31st.
