Hey Chris. Well I've run 3 marathons: one with Team in Training (and started another until an injury stopped me) who raises money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It was a great experience. I've learned a lot about a company called Wycliffe Bible Translators and would love to start a running group to raise money for their efforts. Not a charity everyone is likely to get behind, but I think the people who do will be very excited about it.
Are there some good running groups meeting on weekends in Indy? Past 10-12 miles, it's rough to run on your own. Groups are definitely the way to go!
Chris....FWIW.....the best way to go is to browse other people's followers/followings and add them. They will start following you (some will) and you will begin to build a network. The clue is it will take time to find all of your friends. I have some interesting people I follow: @the_real_shaq, @johncleese, @crissangel and others.
Chris, thanks for the friends request and the interest in my practice. I work with a wide variety of people and enjoy working with athletes from the "weekend warrior" to the Ironman. I am a running myself so I understand the stresses associated with the sport. I would be happy to tell you more if you would like to meet sometime.
Chris, I have followed you on twitter. Let me know if I can be of any help you you. I know there are a lot of us on here who are tweeting and we are all happy to help you!
Chris - I am new to twitter as well but I do know that you need to start finding people to follow. Some will then start following you in return. Right now, there is not anyone following you so no one is reading your tweets. I hope this helps! You can follow me @kristiekreation for starters.
I knew your name sounded familiar, I looked it up and boom state champion in the mile. Thanks for joining the Indiana runners group I noticed there wasn't one so I had to make it
Hi Chris - thanks for adding me as a friend. Where abouts in Southeastern Indiana did you live? I am originally from Rushville, which is more East Central Indiana, lived 5 years in Batesville and now in Greensburg. I was hoping to get more people from this area on board with a Southeastern Indiana group. So, thanks for joining. One at a time, I guess. The group will grow.
I look forward to hearing from you again and let me know how I can help you connect with people from SEI.
"Avid" may be a little strong....I go in spurts! I just ran the Monumental Marathon in Indy over the weekend, so I'll probably take a break for a while and get fat over the winter :) Then back into gear to prepare for the '09 mini!
