Last night at the Rainmakers Main Event,
Lorraine Ball of Roundpeg spoke about our local economic eco-system. She asked each of us to list three businesses we would miss if they were to close up, and it really started making me think what part I can play to make sure this doesn’t happen to the three I listed. First thing I can do is to make sure everyone within my circle or “tribe” knew how much I appreciated my three – and even though I think most people do that know me, I want to widen that circle and ask others to check them out – because, as Lorraine said, if you do business with them, they will be around for me!
So, let’s visit my list. First of all, there is
Chris Reed with Creed Improvements. Chris not only is an amazing business person, but he does great general contract work and even gives grandmas hugs after the work is done. He and his company are awesome, and I feel very fortunate to have him not only as my “go to” person for home improvement projects and business ideas, but he’s also a friend who lends me his ear and shoulder when I need it.
Secondly, there is
Nick Carter with Carter and Company /Address Two. Nick is one of those genuinely helpful business person who has the utmost integrity. He is a savvy entrepreneur with great ideas and forward thinking that will take him far in business and in life.
And, last but definitely not least, and Lorraine, I promise I had already written this down before you told your last one,
Rainmakers. People who know me fairly well know my story – I would not have started my business had it not been for Rainmakers. Bottom line, I would not have had the guts to do it without the support and friendship of so many great Rainmakers. I not only get business from Rainmakers, but I get great business advice and ideas and some incredible people I can call my friends. I could not imagine my life without Rainmakers, and I hope I never have to.
