Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

With so many members and new people, we wanted to share some of our tips for making the most of your membership.

Your first ‘to do’ is to review our community guidelines:
1. We want to know the real you...Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account.
2. We want to know the real you...Please do NOT use your Smaller Indiana blog for blatant self promotion.
3. We want to see your smiling face...Please do NOT use logos or commercial images for your profile photo.
4. Events should be posted in the events calendar, NOT inside blog posts.
5. Please do NOT post commercial video (demo reels), or Corporate Website promotions in your blog.
6. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

Next, you’ll want to take a trip over to our 400+ Special Interest Groups.
Note: You can sign up for as many groups as you like & if you don’t find one that fits your interests, create a new group. Use the search box to search for a group by keyword, or visit the Google doc: Smaller Indiana Group Links & sort by name or category.

Then, check out the ongoing conversations in the community Forum. This IS where we encourage you to post all of your business related information (we call it “Blatant Self-Promotion”). While you’re here you can look for a new job Classified section: “Help Wanted” or add your job search to the Classified section: Position Wanted.

The Forum is the best place to create discussions as the most popular topics (those with the most replies) continue to show up on the main page as long as there is conversation. Feel free to respond to other member posts and/or add your own. We organize these on-going conversations by theme.

About Smaller Indiana
Business

To find out what’s happening In & Around Indy, search through the Events section by day or month. Please post your events to this calendar (rather than in your blog - we promise it’s easy!) – just click “Add an event” and complete the short form – you can even link to a Google map and include an RSVP link.

Finally, you can easily add photos, videos and personalize your blog. A quick reminder about photos: Please use a photo of your smiling (or unsmiling we don’t care:) face on your profile. This way, we can all recognize each other at the off-line community events.

This list is far from complete, we want to hear your tips and tricks. Please comment with your favorites!

Hello all, thanks for the Welcome, Kristen.

I think this is a good idea, and will enable people to muliply their powerby working iin a group, because you can organize your thoughts and ideas, before you present them. Then when you do present them, it will have much more "power" in the presentation!

I look forward to being on your team!
