The Weather Looks Good for Blogging in Indiana

The weather forecast for Monday's gathering of Smaller Indiana bloggers on Monument Circle is "Good" according to weather.com. It won't be as warm as we'd like, but the chance of rain is listed at only 10%.

So, why should you attend this gathering of fellow bloggers from Indiana?

  • Most bloggers should probably spend more time outdoors. (Guilty!) Be prepared for many pale faces.
  • Bloggers tend to be humorous (or way too serious - Guilty!) so it could be an entertaining hour of one-upmanship as we try to out-blog each other.
  • To help promote the upcoming BlogIN 2008, a Blogging “Unconference”, sponsored by Smaller Indiana, and hosted at the IUPUI School of Informatics on Saturday, April 26 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Because it really has no formal shape or itinerary, so it will be what the participants make it, like a "Be In" of the 60's, where people just gathered together to share the experience of existing in peace and harmony.
  • If just being is not enough for you, then you can network amongst a group of motivated, forward-thinking and like-minded professionals.
  • You can enjoy your favorite downtown lunch spot that you don't get to enough to satisfy your cravings. I plan on having a couple of slices of Enzo's NY style pizza after the event (149 N. Illinois St. across from the Hilton) so feel free to join me.
  • To learn something new about a new form of media that is rapidly becoming a force for change and success.
  • To participate in the first event of this kind. If it becomes a trend that sweeps across the globe, you can say to your granchildren that you attended the first ever BlogMob. If you missed Woodstock, this is another opportunity to participate in an historical, world-changing event - without the mud.

Bring a laptop if you can and remember to wear blue and/or yellow. See you there.

Considering my current state, cane and all, RAN is kind of an overstatement, don't you think? :)

But it was fun, and we should do it again, maybe on a warmer day!

Lorraine, Your efforts should be commended as well, especially considering that, despite recovering from surgery, you took the ball and ran with it when it was handed off to you.

Erik,
We have had questions about the Free Wi Fi on the circle? Does South Bend have one? I know Columbia club does.

See you on the Circle

How about you turn to your trusty local forecasters at http://weather.gov/ind ! Ok, I'm biased when it comes to that site. :)

I'll be at the South Bend Chocolate Company, on the south end of the Circle, showing a couple people the blogging basics. If anyone wants to stop by, we'll be there at 11, getting things fired up.
