Historic Building in Auburn (DeKalb County) About to Fall

In august, many community organizations were informed that the DeKalb County School Board planned to tear downt he building that housed them - leaving them scrambling to find new homes (WANE TV Link). This building is the old Auburn High School that had also been an elemntary school until recent years. Since that time, it has housed many organizations and has the potential (and community support) to be a tremendous community asset.

However, despite offers to spare the building, the board has refused and - at the moment, plans are progressing to bring it to the ground as early as this week.

There is still time to halt the project and save the historic building.
