I'm helping WISH-TV's Julie Patterson organize the online activities of the annual Will Power Race For Riley fundraiser. Go to the webpage for the cool story on the history of the event. I know there are lots of fellow runners here on SI, so please… Continue

I've learned plenty of things this year (not that there's anything wrong with it) and one of the most striking is the power of New Media. And not just in some abstract, isn't-this-cool-sense. I started posting random jokes, links, and forecasts on Facebook and Twitter. Now I have a creative outlet that allows me to directly… Continue
I've been playing around with the Ustream video streaming service mornings in "Studio B" of the Paul Poteet building. Here's a clip from this afternoon plugging the stream (must be a better way of saying that) and TRYING to explain a group near & dear to "Smaller Indiana."

Don't ask how, but the magic little button in the middle of my Blackberry popped off at me the other day. (Who could blame it?) It was following in the footsteps of the the little ring around the magic button (remember those classic commercials for "ring around the button?") which had already dislodged.I found a great place for temporarily dumb smart phones.

Tom and I have worked closely together on OFF THE CUFF for over two years, but sometimes it only seems like 25. Our negativity with each other on this episode is balanced by some positive Viewer Mail. Sure, YOU like us. You don't work with us. Continue

It didn't take long for Tom to look around his new home at WZPL and notice Dave Smiley's Brown Jacket. (He's very observant, which is a more polite way for me to say obsessive-compulsive.) So he wrote a parody song, and we sang it, and we did some "moves" and people stared while we were taping it all around Indianapolis. Thanks to my old friends at Beef & Boards for the threads, and to the… Continue
How can I campaign against the Godfather of SI right here on his site? :)

My Mom, who had been ill with cancer the last few months, passed away yesterday. When I explained to Mom a few weeks ago about the hundreds of emails/facebook messages/tweets I'd gotten about losing Dad she was pleased even though she had no idea what a Twitter was. Maybe she was just relieved her goofy son had friends. THANKS again to all my relatively new friends on SI for your support this (long) month on behalf of my family.

I've written about OTC on SI a bunch. Now that our Upgrade is complete, Tom Davis and I are excited that OFF THE CUFF is now more easily shared by the 5 or 6 people who actually like it. Visit us in the "z-tv" section of the new wzpl web site. When you land on a CUFF, you (finally!) have the option of sharing it via email, posting a direct link on your Facebook, or embedding it into your blog. I'd like you to share Paul & Tom. Mrs. Poteet and… Continue
I try to hang around with smart people as often as possible. It might rub off. Neal Moore is a smart guy who has worked with the Informatics Department at IUPUI, and operates Neal Moore Communications. We met to discuss some biz at Mo'Joes Coffeehouse, and ended up playing around with "Twitcam," a service that lets you log in w/your Twitter account, and send a tweet announcing you… Continue
