Sarah Richcreek April in Paris: IVY Tech culinary school fundraising dinner.

On Sunday, I had the fortune of attending this fantastic event for the second time. My mom, aunt, uncle, and I go to enjoy a seven course meal and support a great cause. Every year at this event, donations are given to support IVY Tech attendees. 100% of the proceeds go towards scholarship money for the students. I took photos of every course. (The lighting was poor, so the photos don't do justice.) It's a very very rare occasion that I get a seven course meal - a foodie's heaven. Oh, and for al… Continue

Milo Curtis Time, Tech, Serving Well

As a pastor I am constantly reviewing my time. How I am investing it is critical to the life, health, and growth of our church. If I invest it wisely, people will be led well and I position us to experience whatever God wants to do. If I invest it poorly, we will loose focus and neglect the opportunities God has for us. As a result I'm constantly reviewing the use of my time and if I am be… Continue

Rachel Mahl Techno-Speak

"That must be wonderful; I have no idea what it means." - Albert Camus Have you ever sat through a proposal that was so full of technical terms ("techno-speak") that you just couldn't make heads or tails out of it? A good reminder to us all that sometimes we get so enamored with our "jargon" (and abbreviations) that we lose our customers in the message. We hope this doesn't happen to you, yet thought we'd share some of the tips we give our technology customers (and our call center customers, a… Continue

Deb New Keeping it in-person while online

The online world provides for a lot of great connections. I've met cool new business people I probably never would have met in the "real" world like Kyle Lacy, reconnected with long, lost ones like college classmates, and found new ways to connect through Kelley InCircle and Smaller Indiana. There's a ton of amazing and free information like… Continue

Lorraine Ball We are a Tech Mecca

In the early days of Smaller Indiana, there was a lively discussion about about whether or not, Indianapolis should strive to be the next Silicon Valley. Six pages of posts later, we had opinions on all sides of the fence. But a recent email from Techpoint, convinced me those of us who believed it would be possible, were right… Continue

Joyce Boadt Inspired by BlogIN

Yesterday I had the good fortune to attend the Smaller Indiana BlogIN. I've been debating about whether it would make sense to have a separate blog on Smaller Indiana. I have another blog that I write for Women & Hi Tech and wondered what would be the benefit of putting the time into writing another. Obviously, I decided that it did make sense to have a Smaller Indiana blog. The Women & Hi Tech blog is focused on a specific topic each month. Because of this I sometimes feel a bit constr… Continue

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.
