Carey Driscoll Indiana Ballet Company's Phantom of the Opera

I was lucky enough to score two free tickets to the Phantom of the Opera performed by the Indiana Ballet Company, thanks to Smaller Indiana. My husband Dan and I went last night to the show and were very impressed. I hadn't been to a ballet in several years, and the Phantom of the Opera is one of Dan's favorite narratives. It was also the first time either of us had been to the Madame Walker Theatre - what a beautiful venue (have you seen the funky monkeys above the stage!?). The performance was… Continue

Katalina Absolon This week in PA and OH

We just finished a great show in Mont Alto PA last night. We had about 6 people run out of the room. We freaked them out. They came back in to see the rest of the show though! We have another show tonight in Painesville OH. I just have a couple of minutes before we unload and start set-up. We love performing our Mind Tripping show. Continue

Lindsay Manfredi Command The Brain....Command The Stage

In life, we get nervous, right? Especially when we're not quite sure of oursleves. I'm a performer. I used to get so sick to my stomache everytime I had to play a show in the beginning of my career. I was excited. I was nervous, I was scared....I mean, the gamete of emotions take their toll. I believe anyone who has ever had to perform or speak in front of people can understand this. I've heard many things about speaking, one being that folks would rather die than speak publically. Sounds like t… Continue

Joyce Boadt Looking Forward to IndyFringe 2008!

Last night I attended a fundraiser for the upcoming IndyFringe festival at the American Cabaret Theater. What a fabulous evening! Pauline Moffat, the Executive Director for IndyFringe, certainly knows how to throw a party. The admission price of $25 included a yummy sampling of tapas from Barcelona as well as a terrific show. For those of you unfamiliar with IndyFringe, it’s a10 day celebration of alternative theater, performance arts – and so much… Continue

Daniel Andrew Young Music Is Life

I posted the first two paragraphs of this on the "Musicians Unite!" Discussion, promising to continue it on my blog. This may bore the pants off you, but it's my true story, for what it's worth. Music is Life! Writing songs is my #1 art form. I play guitar and keyboards (not terribly well), but am primarily a singer, performing jazz & pop standards, ballads & swing. I used to play original songs on gigs sometimes but there wasn't really a market here for what I do. I have some home stu… Continue
