Jennifer Swineford The Phantom of the Opera at the Madame Walker Theather by the IBC

I had the privilege of going to the Indiana Ballet’s performance of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ with my husband this Halloween. I hadn’t been to a professional ballet before and was awed. We were told a little about the IBC itself before the performance and learned that all the dancers at the IBC are Hoosiers. I found this to be very interesting, not only are we supporting the IBC, but really great dancers who have chosen to make Indiana their home. The performance was beautiful and moving. I wa… Continue

Carey Driscoll Indiana Ballet Company's Phantom of the Opera

I was lucky enough to score two free tickets to the Phantom of the Opera performed by the Indiana Ballet Company, thanks to Smaller Indiana. My husband Dan and I went last night to the show and were very impressed. I hadn't been to a ballet in several years, and the Phantom of the Opera is one of Dan's favorite narratives. It was also the first time either of us had been to the Madame Walker Theatre - what a beautiful venue (have you seen the funky monkeys above the stage!?). The performance was… Continue

Jeff Corns Phantom of the Opera performance by Indiana Ballet Company (IBC)

On Halloween this year, I had the pleasure of attending the Indiana Ballet Company’s production of The Phantom of the Opera. This was a double pleasure because it was also the day my oldest daughter Isabelle (Izzy) and I spent together for her 9th birthda… Continue

Chuck Lasker Observations from my First Ballet - Phantom of the Opera

Thanks to the generosity of the Indiana Ballet Company (IBC), my wife, Sharon, and I attended our first ballet performance this afternoon. It was Phantom of the Opera, a perfect show for Halloween. We got the tickets through the IBC's SmallerIndiana.com contest. Woo hoo! Thanks to Elizabeth Audet, pictured here with me after the… Continue

Mason King Fringe Blogging: "Groundwork Suites"

• Sunday, Aug. 23, 6 p.m. — Kenyetta Dance Company presents “Groundwork Suites” I’ve always felt a bit at sea when reviewing dance. I’m unsure of the vocabulary of movements and styles, and I don’t have enough training or background to make any authoritative judgments. That said, I enthusiastically recommend the KDC’s performance of “Groundwork Suites,” choreographed by company dancer and artistic director Nicholas Owens. This elegant and earthy piece, as well as its robust and polished perform… Continue

Shawn Neal A little about what I do...

I began Anderson Creative Solutions LLC in August of 2008 in order to expand what I had been doing on a freelance level for about 8 years (as well as with a few past employers). ACS is a public relations and design firm dedicated to small and med-sized businesses. The idea is this: we help you get attention! We create attention-grabbing campaigns that will help you position yourself as a leader, build brand and customer loyalty, and bring your audience to you. It could be a new product or locati… Continue

Lindsay Manfredi Room For Growth: Expanding Mind Evolution Into Company Evolution

I was driving home last night from work and talking to someone on the phone. This person asked me why I would blog, made some comments about not understanding, then said it was kind of stupid. After I hung up, I began to think about personal growth and openmindedness. How often are companies not growing because the leaders in the company are not growing? One of the things I love about business is that for the most part, the success is truly in our own hands. I am a firm believer that if one can… Continue

Chris Bross Social Design For Small Business

I always enjoyed reading Fast Company magazine, great ideas and inspiring articles about small businesses. About nine months ago Fast Company changed their web site presence to focus on social engagement with site visitors. This online model change was a big step for such a successful and stable magazine. Fast Company’s brand is about new ideas, so the change seems logical. Plus, I bet the new site is probably a great lead generator for their subscription… Continue
