What's the "greenest" thing happening in Indiana right now?

I'm looking for a perspective that helps me either better explain my negative view of the "windmill solution" or helps me give up my opposition to them. If you'd like to help me with that, take a loo…

It is the small groups of people who have separated the concepts of happiness and materialism, "standard of living" and energy usage, change and progress. How many "green" innovations simply continue…

My number one rule in conducting my real estate business is First Do No Harm. It looks funny as I write it, but integration and balance affect us from bottom to top/top to bottom. Wholistic - now that sounds hippie. I like your integrated approach,…

I'm all for innovation. There's just something fun, invigorating, about identifying a problem and then trying to find a solution. In the first discussion, we seemed to be touching on the need for innovation. My background isn't philosophy, I was a h…

Just wondering what this group's view on replacement windows for energy savings/sustainability is. This might seem a little mundane, but there's a bigger picture issue here. Since the mid 90's, there have been quite a few studies showing that very l…

I like that definition of prosperity. I don't think that's what people really have in mind when they use it. It's people exploring alternative meanings (or true meanings), or just plain alternatives, that solve problems -so thank you Scott. I really…

There's something about the "jobs" focus/rationale that's troubling to me. Talking about jobs doesn't seem to get us anywhere better than we are. Providing "jobs" is just feeding a system that many of us would say needs a major redesign -and a fresh…

How did you hear about Smaller Indiana?
Other
What is your greatest strength?
Hard to say. I do try hard to understand and solve problems that are going unnoticed.
What are you working on?
Raising awareness about the waste and economic harm caused by replacing rather than repairing. Current interest is in old homes/buildings, and specifically for now, original windows. Ad campaigns and lobbying efforts have convinced people they are being wise or even "green" by replacing windows -which is not the case.
How big is your business?
Self-employed
What is your Job Title
Owner
What is your Company Website?
http://moroccorandr@superhomepro.com
What is your alma mater?
Purdue University
Why join Smaller Indiana? What are you hoping to experience here ?
I hope to increase discussion/awareness of the real issues behind messages to replace rather than repair windows, and raise questions about the "disposable" mindset.

Help

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

4. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. "Blatant self-promotion" is discouraged on SI, and "spam" is not welcome. Please be considerate of your fellow members.

7. Display ads (graphic banners designed to promote your business) can only live on your own profile page, unless you are an approved sponsor of Sponsor of Smaller Indiana.

Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
