How did you hear about Smaller Indiana?

What is your greatest strength?
My experience in building business online. I've been online in some form or another for almost 25 years, and have been "in the field" for over 10. I'm just really, really good at helping people figure out which of the many online options make sense for their small business. I'm also really passionate about helping people turn their hidden (and not so hidden) knowledge into a passive income and training them in the "how to" of it all.
What are you working on?
Business in Blue Jeans, mostly. I'm writing for Examiner.com as the Indianapolis Small Business Examiner, building connections with local business owners, and working on my second book.
How big is your business?
Self-employed
What is your Job Title
Owner
What is your Company Website?

What is your Personal Website?

What is your alma mater?
Purdue University
Why join Smaller Indiana? What are you hoping to experience here ?
Originally from Indiana, I took a minor hiatus but have been back in Indy for awhile now. My husband and I are looking to expand our social network, but also, I've spent a great deal of time building online awareness of my company, and I love my global clientele. But I'd really like to share Business in Blue Jeans with a local audience and spend more time in Indy.

Why A Good Web Site Matters To Your Business

For most businesses, a web site is one of the most important investments you can make. Entrepreneurs are either overspending or underspending on their web sites, and many have no idea what they’re doing or why. So today I’m going to talk about why a good, solid web site really matters to your business, and in the next three weeks, I’ll follow up with articles on the core components your web site needs to work well for you, and how to hire a solid web firm to build your site affordably.

Starting A Business in A Challenging Economic Climate, Part One (Why Now?)

My recent LifeHack.org post, published April 10:

Starting a business during a recession seems counterintuitive, doesn’t it? If the economy isn’t doing well and people aren’t spending money, doesn’t that mean a new business is likely to fail? Actually, the answer may surprise you.

How To Do What You Have To Do When You Don’t Feel Like Doing It

My latest post on LifeHack.org, published March 26, 2009:

How often do you get that lazy feeling? You know the one. It’s that heavy feeling that weighs down your entire body so the only things you really feel like doing is watching TV, surfing the Internet, or playing your Wii. Or,… Continue

I started working with branding and positioning years ago...but until I re-branded my own company, I never really understood how fundamental and powerful branding could be. On Jan. 1, 2009, I re-launched my company as Business in Blue Jeans, and ...

Hi Susan. Absolutely! Animal communication is incredible. Literally gives voice to animals. I.e.: Spoke w/ a cat in Mass. last night who was pleased to be able to tell her family why she'd attacked another cat in the house + explain how she's mentoring one of the humans in the family (they're both working through similar emotional issues). Every consultation is a miracle! :)

I just wanted to take a second and welcome you to Smaller Indiana. Congratulations on becoming a SMOOSIER.
I love what you are doing with the Business in Blue Jeans. When did you start this endeavor? What a great idea. It is harder to get people passionate about things in this current environment. Keep it up!
