Beautiful images and very cool technique, Dario. Mind linking to the plans, I'd love to see how this is done.

IMO $20 is too low. I started at $50 for that sort of thing, for what it's worth. If you don't feel cheated at $20 however, go for it. If you can get $50 though... ;)

The Quadra is sort of in between. It's 400ws and the heads are just a bit larger than my small flashes. They're battery powered but the pack also pretty compact. I did a quick search and found a video of Scott Kelby talking about it on YouTube: h...

Yes, I certainly can't complain. :) Next is some real lights. I still do all my lighting with small flashes, umbrellas, and reflectors. I'm hoping to add Elinchrom's Ranger Quadra and an Octobox to my kit soon. I can't wait.

Thanks Dario. I have a Nikon D300 and mostly use two lenses: Nikon's 24-70 2.8 and their 70-200 2.8VR. I also use Nikon's 105mm 2.8 macro fairly often. I also have the 50mm 1.8, but prefer the two zoom lenses.

Sorry, Dario, I didn't mean that to come off as a critique on the way you're working with subjects. Obviously, it's working *very* well for you. :)

Also, some images from this weekend. I've been working pretty consistently on photo projects related to my day job lately, so it was great to have some down time this weekend to work on my own stuff. It was like taking a nice deep breath.

Recently I've created a 12 Subject Photoshop course for Photographers, and thought it would be something of interest to you. The course is 3 hours, 1 on 1, and you receive a handbook to go along with the course. Customizing the course by Subject is also possible. This is a great course that will benefit your photography forever. Course details can be seen on my site www.newmanphoto.net under Classes. Let me know if interested and I hope to speak soon.

The plans are receiving too little return, as PK Koduri, Dario Impini, and yourself are the only ones who have responded. I am still wishing to meet up on that day, and I imagine Koduri is as well. What do you say we meet up at a venue on the northside?

Just about everything, Esther. Photography has become mostly an excuse to explore and experience, and then to try and bring everyone along with me. I enjoy meeting and getting to know new people through portraiture; enjoy exploring the fine detail of the world in macro photography; the walking meditation of a slow hike in the woods. I enjoy watching the world line up and then slide back apart as I walk downtown; the challenge of capturing the emotion in modern dance...

All this to say I like all sorts of photography. :)
