My wife and I really enjoy Sakura's at like 71st and Keystone. (7201 N Keystone Ave Indianapolis, IN 46240) We get a sushi sampler which comes with a lot of sushi, salad, and soup for like $30 total for both. We never walk away hungry, and we've p...

If you're talking Thai, the best Thai in town - hands down - is Siam Square in Fountain Square. It can be on the expensive side, but worth it. They also have a constantly changing collection of fixed price beer and wine by the glass.

Sawasdee has the best Thai in the area. There's plenty of other good places but theirs is the best quality & price. As for old-time ambiance and great food, you can't beat Oriental Inn on Arlington (http://www.orientalinnrestaurant.com). For gre...

Yen Ching also has a location on East Washington just before Post Road. We go for lunch often. Pot stickers are very good. Hong Kong Inn at 38th and Franklin has been a family favorite for years. Their egg rolls are the best! We usually order din...

I'm slow on the draw here but we like Yen Ching on 421 north of 86th and just south of 465. Sit down, table cloths, great food and very friendly people.

There's Thai Taste in Castleton. I've been there a couple times and it's really good.

Thai Smile on Allisonville north of 96th is awesome!!!

Forbidden City is probably the best....but i miss the place in Broad Ripple that went out a few years ago. the best eggrolls ANYWHERE!

Mark Pi's in Nora is great....... an awesome, authentic, hole-in-the-wall type of place is at 116th and Rangeline/Westfield.... Sichuan..... oh man....it's good (I like the off-menu food better than the small buffet) and it's very reasonable.

You mean there's a Thai buffet here in town? Awesome!!

The Chinese place by 38th and Shadeland is Foon Ying. My FIL opened up the restaurant in the mid 80's and has since sold it to another man, but he also sold all of his recipes, so the egg foo young will still be the same as Erik remembers. My wif...

Totally agree with Eric on the Thai Spice, fabo Pad Thai. I like this little hole in the wall called the Bamboo House at Emerson and Thompson road - in the strip mall next to Radio Shack. They have a $3.99 all you can eat lunch buffet which is goo...

I like Sawasdee, but the best Masaman Curry I've had is at Thai Spice in Greenwood/south Indy on County Line Road, just across from the Greenwood Mall. And I hear a lot of great things about Thai Smile, but haven't had a chance to make it yet.

Ooh, I do enjoy some Thai too. Sawasdee up on 86th is where it's at for me.

The humble trash can

*thunk*

... @&$#*!

I'd knocked the trash can over -- again! And now I feared I would be late for work, but I couldn't just leave that mess in the alley. I have a tendency to really whip my car around quick, backing out of the driveway. Trash pick-up is only once a week, not frequent enough to quickly cement a routine. And for some reason my landlord ALWAYS puts those big cans right in my path. So, for a little wh… Continue

On Motivation: Remember who/what you're in this for!

So, I was going to post this right after Labor Day. And then Blogger ate it and I was too frustrated to re-type the thing. And then life happened, and I've just now gotten around to revisiting the post. But it's fitting, as it turns out, that I should post this in such proximity to the anniversary of 9/11 when people are still feeling contemplative, etc:

I know this is a career-blog, so I won't let it get too mushy-rainbow-puppy overrun. But we just got back from a holiday weekend, and I hope… Continue

5 things I wish I'd known 5 years ago

Well, my alma mater started classes this week, so I guess it's time for that obligatory back-to-school post. I'm not sure if this year's incoming college class is still even considered Generation Y. Already, I'm beginning to understand that "generation gap" t… Continue

No, this was not meant to be as condescending as it came across, or at all for that matter. I have a problem of typing while I think, and assuming all came out as intended. I am sorry if this caused any disturbance.

By your reply, I gather you somewhat understood I intended nothing negative. Thank you for giving it a chance.

I am not too involved in the networking on here any longer. I have found it to be a waste of more time than not. I do not count it out, but stay reluctant.

When did you complete your B.A.?

Well Leah, as I read through your page here, I fail to know you much better than I did when I started. By the way, I started at zero. I am curious, where did you attend, and what did you study there? I did learn that you are attempting a bit of networking, and I am still seeking the idea as well.

So, nice to meet you, Leah, sort of.

Hi Leah, what I have seen so far about this community I really like! People actually use it frequently which means there's a bunch of useful info on here. I have the feeling I'm just scratching the surface and that is what will keep me coming back.

Thanks for the comment!
