I'm sorry, but I can't. There are four or five other big events going on that same night. Not sure why the 18th is so popular this month, but it's crazy busy that night. I hope y'all have a great evening and have a good turnout! --John www.MyCarDo...

You are not alone. Most entrepreneurs have an attraction to distractions. What are the flavors of your favorite distractions? The buzzing of a Blackberry? The ring of a cell phone? The ding of a new email? Employees knocking on your office door w...

Happy Monday!!

Am I really happy? Actually yes. Although it is only 6:45am so not too much has happened to ruin my day yet. Not to be pessimistic but man, life has been interesting to say the least. I saw a quote by Mother Teresa awhile back that said, “God only gives me what I can handle. I wish he didn’t trust me so much.” Isn’t that the truth.

So this week my “stuff” to handle is getting caught up and staying caught up. On emails and just work in general. I have found that the money tree in my back yard is… Continue

Great new book - Overcomers Inc

As I was reading through this book I came across an excerpt by Catherine Newton, Create a Magical Life: Tap into Your Soul’s Intention of Abundance. It is about trusting yourself when your proverbial castle is crumbling. When it seems that everything in life is falling apart you must trust in yourself and your actions that things happen for a reason and the right path and destiny will show itself.

This really spoke to me, as it is what I am currently going through in my own life. Each day when… Continue

Beat the caffeine

So, this week I had this great idea, well I thought it was great at the time, to cut back on my caffeine intake. You see I typically drink a pot of coffee in the morning just to get me going and then several ice tea’s during the day. Then at night wine to relax me (but that’s a post all in itself). I began to realize that I was having trouble sleeping and figured it was due to one of three things. My high stress level, sleeping with my Blackberry and feeling compelled to see what emails came acr… Continue

I hate the telephone (and vociemail too)

I hate the telephone. I was never a big fan of the phone but as the years pass I become even less thrilled with actually talking when texting or email will suffice. Before you go thinking I am some kind of introvert or don’t like people it’s not that at all (I like most people….the ones that aren’t stupid). It’s more about time management. It is a better use of my time to just text/email a quick request without all the meaningless chit chat that often goes along with a phone call. If I have the… Continue

Own a Business - Follow the Rules

Many people become business owners so they don’t have so many rules. So they didn’t have to bow to “the man.” Well guess what you still have an “Uncle” whose rules you have to follow. Rules such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the American Disabilities Act (ADA, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), At- Will employment (which does not mean you can terminate without liability) and more. As a business owner you need to be knowledgeable about what those specific rules are and how… Continue
