Welcome to Smaller Indiana. I think you will find this is a little different then most Social Networks. The community is active both on and off line. Check out some of our groups and events for information on what is going on around the state.

Thanks for adding a photo to your profile. We love to see the people we are talking with!

A few tips as you get started:

We love interesting conversations in the main blog, so please use that section, for questions, thought provoking ideas and interesting observations. The forums work best for business promotions, job hunting, employee finding, and event promotion. You can also list events in our calendar section.

Make friends, reach out to people you know, and introduce yourself to people you don’t! I look forward to reading your posts, and perhaps meeting you at one of our many events around town!

Hi Kristin,

Hope things are going well for you. Welcome to Smaller Indiana. Has your company did any work for any local companies? Once you create a image for your client, who do you currently do your advertising with?

Thanks

Has Photo-shopping gone to far?

So I am reading some gossip site, like I do every once and awhile, to check up on what's happening in the world of hollywood. I come across an article about a celebrity and a photo that came out that was accidentley released before her body could be photo-shopped. I mean I know that photo-shopping an image happens in that business, but i had no idea how common a practice it was! There was a firestorm because once the touch-up photo was released it showed just how much they had done to the photo.… Continue

The World of Social Media

As of this year I now have a twitter, facebook, smaller indiana and linkedin account. I had facebook as a personal thing that i used to talk to friends but everything else was foreign. I thought twitter was kind of a stupid thing, "what you just post what your doing at that second?" I didn't get it.

I started with twitter. I got an account so i could s… Continue

The Upgrade Battle

So I just upgraded to CS4. I am always a little worried about upgrading my software. I mean realistically they keep updating at all times, by the time I got to CS4 they probably have CS5 or something new! I can never keep up, but back to why I hate upgrading... Stuff is always completely different and while working I really don't want to waste time trying to figure out where all the new things are.

Lets take InDesign for example. The panels on the sides are so different. Stuff isn't bundled tog… Continue

Help

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

4. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
