One conclusion: People who use social media are more technologically savvy and therefore more interested in news relating to technology. They will be overrepresented in a survey that uses social media as a vehicle.

The Indiana Chamber has a pretty decent benchmark compensation survey. Salary.com has info, but I have found it to be 20-40% inflated for Indy. I would also want to see the expectations of this Exec Dir role - travel, odd hours, job functions (respo…

I totally get the undertone and the semantic discussion is really a moot point. Beyond question, the NFL exists as an industry and the Colts exist as a business.

Any time a community makes an investment ,there will be dissent and discussion based on differing priorities. That is as it should be. Disagreeing with a decision to invest in a sports arena is certainly a valid position. What I have trouble unders…

I think your point mirrors the persistent rise in incivility that permeates our culture. I know I'll end up sounding like everyone's proverbial "father" but I haven't seen such hateful political rancor since the Vietnam era. Everyday, we are assault…

Result-based compensation makes a lot of sense. But results are sometimes difficult to measure and the value of those results is often a subjective determination. I am trying to create a compensation proposal that has a market-based framework (henc…

Kevin, you might start with a Google search on: non-profit executive compensation indiana and go from there.

I always find it humorous that we keep salaries secret and feel like that there is a valid comparison between different firms of different sizes. Shouldn't everyone be paid for results, not time? Shouldn't everyone be paid based on what they are wo…

My favorite part was Pierre Garcon forcing the fumble after the interception. That was easily the play of the game (and possibly of the season.) The atmosphere and energy downtown before the game was electric. It was really an enjoyable experience.

yes, I am very lucky. Sat next to a master woodworker at dinner last week and he said he lived in the old McCracken Homestead near toronto ... half the people in the telephone directory there are McCracken! A second McCracken Landing is in Canada.. I had only heard about the one on the mississipi. He completely remade the home from local lumber,,,, bought it from Ontario for $1! I am jealous!

obviously you are KEvin. I have friends who say ayann for Ann and clayer for Claire so it might be hoosier. I am descended from the brother of Henry Jpy McCracken. He went from Scotland to Ireland to fight around the time of Bonnie prince Charlie. he was hanged for treason! My grandfather grew up on a farm in Northern Ireland. He was taken with his brother to Louis Pasteur when a mad dog bit him and his brother... his father must have been well read and up to date to even know about this. I believe his brother came to the USA but we have no further information on that side. there is of course a place called "McCracken Landing " on the mississippi I think and the town of Paduccah(?sp) is in McCracken county. My father visited both with his brother 30 years ago or so. I have been meaning to go for ages but not done it yet. They said there were signs on buses saying " Keep McCracken Clean" ! etc. I only know of on pronunciation for McCracken (muckracken). Sara is a welsh name... my father Dermot was born in wales. It is not pronounced sarah( Serah) although many Americans have tried to tell me I am mispronouncing my own name!. It is" Saaruh" . Interestingly, most jewish and Indian people get it right!

Hope this helps. You can call me if you need to hear these things! 317 431 0719.
