I think I have been wondering the same thing as you. I've wondered if I could even think of the "next big thing" in my ripe old age of 34, and if I did . . . would I have the gumption to just do it, and the motivation to market it? I'd like to thi...

Gotcha, and that makes sense. I've had a blog post drafted for two weeks about sports and Twitter, so I probably took it off course. But, still check out what they're tweeting. It looks like someone is going to have to get in big trouble before th...

I think these professional sports teams are starting to read what their own players are posting on Twitter, and now are generally scared of Twitter. Hopefully it will die down and the media can tweet, but I do think teams are going to have to lay ...

I like this. I read it earlier, but just read an article about a YouTube video and how social media is changing the world which reminded me of this post. YouTube videos used to just be called YouTube videos. Are they any different now that they ar...

I didn't watch the video, but I kind of like the idea. It's about 10 years late, but better late than . . . I remember when Radio Shack was the coolest place to go to. It was the only place I remember seeing computers back in the early 80's, the ...

Thanks for the message. I research a lot for things I write on and have collected a storage database of news items dealing with economics and politics. Don't know why I do it, but if you ever need research on something, hit me up because I usually got it. If I don't, I usually go out and get it from my library of books I got.

Kevin. Hey man. I hope you are doing well. Your name was given to me by Justin Bryant. As part of my job at IUPUI I am chair of the 2009 BackPack Attack School Supply Drive. We have over 250 businesses or organizations all doing internal school supply drives to reach this year's goal of a half million school supplies. I am looking to get different neighborhood associations involved to do school supply drives. Would this be something your neighborhood association in Fishers would be interested in? It is a great program and incredibly important for the city.

I hope you are well

Kevin-
All that "stuff" you said needs to be done is what I don't get! .htaccess, root directory, index file, etc, etc, etc. I don't even know if I have access to all that in the TypePad account.

I can just picture myself getting in there and trying to make the changes and ending up with no functional site.

Is this something you (or someone you know) could do for me or walk me through? (If so, please send me a private email so we can discuss compensation - betty@athomeinkokomo.com).

Thanks for trying to help; but it really is all "geek" to me!

Thank you, Kevin! Actually, I've already taken care of the permalinks and they duplicate the old typepad permalinks.

What I need help with is actually changing the new site's URL to the old one. I found all this "stuff" about changing things within the WP database - which is way over my head!

When you switched from MT to WP, did you move the MT URL to the WP platform? Or did you simply forward/redirect it to a new domain name?

Example of what I want to accomplish - When someone searches for "kokomo foreclosures" they find my site with this link:
www.livinginkokomo.com/2009/02/kokomo-foreclosures-sheriff-sale-february-2009.html

Right now in my new site, that page is:
www.NewDomain.com/2009/02/kokomo-foreclosures-sheriff-sale-february-2009.html

I want them to go directly to that posting on my new site. (Not the old TP or an error message.)

Does this make sense? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
