Have you ever been on a sales call that was supposed to be an easy win yet somehow the deal crumbled before your eyes? Have you ever had the perfect plan yet somehow what you thought was perfect was not even close to what the prospect thought was ideal?

I recently learned the hard way that not following the system is not a good idea. I accepted a think it over believing that the individual had good intentions yet I ultimately forgot one of the most talked about Sandler rules – ALL PROSPECTS LIE… Continue

Common Sales Sense

Have you ever finished a sales call and thought to yourself why did I forget to say that? OR If only I would have... If you have been in sales for any length of time I'm sure you have plenty of times. I know I have! The worst feeling though is when you finish a sales call and you know what you should have said or did but you didn't because you simply wimped out NOT because you just forgot.

Identity and Role

Identity is who you are as a person as a whole without taking into consideration any of the roles you play in life. Roles are the different hats you wear such as mother, father, brother, sister, friend and/or salesperson. Seems easy enough but somehow we mix the two and don't realize how it truly affects us.

Don’t be Afraid to Fail

Just writing this title sucks. Who wants to fail? Not me that is for sure! However with any new job or role these thoughts go through the mind of even the most driven and successful individual out there. Nobody likes not knowing exactly what to do and how to handle every new situation they are faced with but if you just remember to celebrate the small wins life will be much brighter.

Try setting a goal for the number of dials you make every day or how many no’s you get when cold calling. Make i… Continue

You Learn By Getting a No

As most of you know I recently took a new job with Lushin & Associates a sales training firm here in Indianapolis and I like many of you am in the process of building my business. Words like frustrating and humbling come to mind when starting out, yet if we all could realize the value we gain from the NO’s. When we take a step back a stop ourselves from getting emotionally involved we could be thinking how exciting this time is and how much we are learning about our business as well as ourse… Continue
