Hey Joyce, it seems that it has been awhile since you have been on the site. Since, our last little meeting did not happen. I thought I would revisit it. I am currently on-site at Lilly (both LCC & LTC). I am currently in build 48. Let's do lunch and have that discussion.

Shot me a message!

Hi Joyce
I saw your Want Ad for folks to participate in a women's enterpreneurs and technology event.

I realize that meeting has passed, albeit I felt you all might be interested in my work.

I'm a Home Business Success Coach with emphasis on the area of partner support. Although women don't actually need men in order to succeed, it's amazing how many are enduring the additional struggle of a negative partner.

As a recovering IT guy, I also have a passion for technology and assist fellow enterpreneurs with incorporating technology into their businesses.

I would love to connect with you, learn more about what you do and see if I may be of service.

Regards

Hi Joyce,

Just in case you don't check the "Ask Your Mama" forum again before Wednesday, I wanted to let you know that you are one of the winning bloggers! I will have two tickets held under your name in will-call. Have fun!

Hello Joyce, it has been awhile since my first contact you several months back on the site. I would still like to get together. If you are still able to meet let me know. I am dropping you an email about this.

Thanks for the comments on my NHL blog. The first NHL game I went to was in 1992 at the old Blues arena. We had standing room only seats and I watched Sergei Federov score the winning goal in OT.

I see you're at Lilly, my wife and I were both there in the mid to late 90s in communications.

Thanks for the post.

What is your greatest strength?
If I have to pick just one, I'd say it is my passion for change. I've never been one to accept the status quo and I'm willing to work to make my world a better place.
What are you working on?
Outside of my "real" job. I've started a discussion group for a local professional Women's Group - Women & Hi Tech. (I'm also one of the co-founders.) The goal of the organization is to attract, retain, develop and promote women in careers in which technology has an impact. Our discussion groups are open to members and guests (women and men) and free of charge. It's been incredibly rewarding to bring together women from throughout the city to discuss topics of relevance to our career development.

In my day job I work for Eli Lilly and focus on establishing research collaborations.

Why join Smaller Indiana? What are you hoping to experience here ?
This group was highly recommended by my friend BJ Davis. My morning discussion group meets at her coffee shop and she recommended to us that what we were doing fit in nicely with the Smaller Indiana mission. I've had an opportunity to look over the web site and I'm very interested in what you are doing. I would hope that I could be an active member and that I would have something to contribute to the rest of the community. When I moved to Indiana fifteen years ago, I never would have believed that I would still be here today. I came for my job in spite of the city and state. Now, Indiana is my home and I want to contribute to making it the kind of place people will be drawn to.

Smaller Indiana Networking Success Story

I consider myself to be pretty darned proficient at networking. I find it easy to talk to people I don't know, love attending events and making connections. Thanks to Smaller Indiana I've been able to boost that effectiveness to a whole new level.

Last night the Women & Hi Tech Discussion Group meeting was hosted by the DocTrain Life Sciences conference. This wonderful opportunity came about because… Continue

"Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz"

Last night’s performance of “Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz” was an amazing experience. The thunderous applause and deafening cheers from the packed house at the Hilbert Circle Theatre leads me to believe that I wasn’t the only one who thought so!

The performance incorporated spoken… Continue

Looking Forward to IndyFringe 2008!

Last night I attended a fundraiser for the upcoming IndyFringe festival at the American Cabaret Theater. What a fabulous evening! Pauline Moffat, the Executive Director for IndyFringe, certainly knows how to throw a party. The admission price of $25 included a yummy sampling of tapas from Barcelona as well as a terrific show.

For those of you unfamiliar with IndyFringe, it’s a10 day celebration of alternative theater, performance arts – and so much… Continue

LinkedIn Networking Success Story

Lately I’ve become something of a zealot on the topic of “virtual networking”. This was the topic I chose for the April Women & Hi Tech discussion group. I thought I’d do a bit of research, see what tools were out there, write some reviews, and then move on to the next topic. Along the way I became a convert (addict?) and things I never knew existed suddenly became part of my daily life!… Continue

Smoosier Bloggers Unite!

As you could probably tell from the all the posts following BlogIN, the event was a huge success. I know it was a fabulous experience for me. I learned a lot, made some great connections, and as I left I was thinking I couldn't wait for the next one. Then it dawned on me, why wait? Why not create a blogging group here to bring together our local blogging community? So, that's what I did. There is now a new group called the Bloggers Forum.

My hope is that the group will attract our blogging comm… Continue
