I am working on getting the Music Mill's name back out into the community to help drive business back into our events and make us once again a premiere concert and event venue in Indianapolis. Oh...and getting some awesome bands to play in the venue and the Whammy Bar!

Jessica,

I just realized something--two good friends who are currently in LA went to Emerson. They are 35ish I think. Not sure when you graduated, but do you know of Kelly Kimball or Melinda Pepler?

Having fun--that's what it's all about. And so many people lose sight of that. I'm committed to that--I'm going to actually enjoy my next job!

Your job IS fun. A friend of mine used to do promotions for the broadway shows that came to the Pantages Theatre. I got to see everything: Wicked, 10th row center seats to Phantom...it was fantastic. I was more sad when she got laid off than when I lost my job!

Thanks! LA was a great experience--it's a tough town. I think you really need to build or find a community, something to belong to, to enjoy life there. It's a quirky place, anything can happen, but it's pretty cold. People are self-centered and shallow. Yet I did things I never thought possible there.

I landed in PR and worked in marketing and internal communications, agency and corporate, for 10 years. My forte is writing. Before that, I worked in film/TV production, did the whole entertainment thing. Took journalism classes, worked on TV script ideas...joined a theatre company, did a lot of voice training, dance...it was incredibly competitive--even community theatre--but all very stimulating.

Still, it's great to be back in the Midwest. I appreciate it so much more.

What's your background? Promotions, marketing?

Oh, I'd love to check out Music Mill and spread the word. I'm all over Facebook and am connected to a large group of North Central alums.

And I'd love to go karaoke-ing. I've been trying to figure out where to go. But word of mouth and just getting out are the best ways to get a handle on things. I think.

Wow, so weird that you mentioned that blueberry beer because I bought a sixer of Sam Adams Blackberry Witbier just last night....strange:) It was really good. Thanks for the "hookup" offer:) I'm happy to pay full price, though. What's the Whammy Bar? LOL Anything like the old game show 'Press Your Luck' where the Whammys come and take all of your money? haha

Hi Jessica--I just moved back to Indy, so I'm not familiar with Music Mill. But I'm a big supporter of the arts, and I'm a writer. If you need any freelance help with marketing materials or anything, let me know.
