Good idea, Pat - then again she'll have to go some to top that last speech - may be she could remove a limb?

Another observation - this talk is about as perfect as it gets. The structure, the storytelling, the dynamics innate to the delivery, the changing of pace, the contextualising of the subject matter, the integrity, the sensitivity, and humour, the ...

What are you working on?
My new Company - after 20 years in advertising I have started The Merchants of Goodwill. Essentially a brand creation company. We cover everything from a twinkle in the eye to a presence in the market. My life in advertising was in many ways frustrating. I always wanted to get upstream. And to really shape a business and brand you need to work from the ground up. The Merchants develop the most exciting property in the world - Intellectual Property. Of course because of my background there's a strong communications bias. The right image and presentation being so fundamental to success, creating a well differentiated brand is both a product's best chance of success and its best defense.

Focus is on projects that build 'goodwill associations' for clients' businesses, to establish & deepen their long term customer relationships while encouraging short term sales.
My short order goal is, 'to capture the imagination', beyond that, the privilege of mass market exposure is the chance to connect.I have always chosen to attribute intelligence and sensitivity to the owners of the eyes and ears on receive at the other end of the wire. Play to your highest vision and the opportunity is to connect with theirs. Play to anything less and you merely afford yourself an equal opportunity. On a personal note, I'm a work in progress and always will be.

Thanks, James.

Yes, confidence is the bellwether of where one puts one's trust.

Thinking and working smart is at a premium now and may God help us all!

Best!

Thanks James. The recession is causing drawbacks and people are becoming more conservative, which is good on one level (the better stewardship bit). On the other side, businesses and people are reformulating their business investments and is affecting people's livelyhoods, which is quite negative. The "stimulus" is getting us more in debt, but we have a strong resilency. On the home front, we are going through growing pains like many others. How about in your world?

Hey James! Glad to have you! I LOVE the UK. I was there back in 2000--had a great time! I loved that I actually heard people referring to each other as "mate". I can't wait to return. Join some groups on here, and have some fun--you will dig it!
