5 Easy Leadership Skillz in a world of blogs and tweeting

Here's some easy leadership skills that I would recommend for anyone... temper as to not curdle the eggs...

1. BE Transparent - keep a personal blog, an corporate blog, create a 'message board' or sharepoint site for your project/initiative. Trust is your number one leadership asset, and there is no quicker way to erode trust than to surprise your stakeholders, employees, clients. THIS one should be a FYI for many fortune 100 "CXO"s as well as local leaders as well. It seems every day th… Continue

What can I do? Turn off John and Kate plus YOU.

Join Smaller Food Indiana

John and Kate plus eight has ruined many lives. Don't believe me? They were all over the Post today and talk shows and THE Soup and everywhere. They are miserable, people around them are miserable and 'its all because they wanted to be on TV'. To be honest, its because YOU watch that crap. And because… Continue

Miller Williams Poetry, "One of those rare occurrences on a city bus"

My new favorite American contemporary Poet is Miller Williams... I barely remember him speaking at Bill Clinton's innagrual and it is near impossible to get ahold of his poetry outside of buying his collections on Amazon... But I really Love this Poem by Miller Williams Called "One

What to EAT on a Snow Day? Roasted root vegetable soup with thyme and avocado.

So, it’s a Snow Day... one of the few days of respite in a central Indiana winter. What magic can you create in the oven that will soothe, warm, and comfort those shovel weary muscles. Look to the pantry (or root cellar clear I suppose if those still exist), to the bottom, behind everything. You probably have some or all of the following: potatoes, parsnips, carrots, celery, celery root, beets, onions, dried herbs... you get the idea.

So, what to do with all this? Roast it in a ro… Continue

Welcome to the Indy Eggheads! If you have any questions please ask. Your recipe today sounded great by the way. The only thing I would have done different is used a cast iron dutch oven and thrown it on the grill with some pecan chips for a little smoke flavor.

Grant,

I got involved early on with the Young Alumni Board and served as the president. But then I got too told, so now I'm the (old person) Alumni Board. It's been fun getting back involved because I took a couple years off from volunteering at Butler.

Just a quick note to let you know that I'm bringing a life sciences conference to town. I was hoping you might share this announcement with others who might find attending this event of interest.

It's called Documentation and Training Life Sciences and it takes place June 23-26, 2008 at the Union Station Crowne Plaza in Indianapolis. Smaller Indiana members qualify for a $300 discount off the price of attendance. Educators can get an even bigger discount.

I have a flyer I can send you via email that you can send to folks who might be interested. Let me know if you can help me spread the word locally.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Grant. Since you're my friend on SMIN, I think we need a F2F meeting. Please just let me know if you're interested in getting together. If you were at the Rathskeller, I'm sorry I missed you!
