Fringe blogging definitely enhanced my experience. I felt more connected to the performers, audience members and production staff. I had so much fun blogging and reading what other bloggers had to say. This was my favorite Fringe to date.

Fringe Blog: “murder, hope”

I’m not usually a big fan of non-linear performances, but my curiosity is always wide open. So last night, I went to see “murder, hope” at Theatre on the Square. This new solo show was written and performed by Becky Poole from Infinity Live Productions in New York City. It’s based on Poole’s experience with her nephew’s diagnosis of a rare brain disorder called Landau-Kleffner Syndrome.Continue

Fringe Blog: When One Fringe Door Closes, Another One Opens—Matthew Roland's “Another Classic of Western Literature”

My first night of Fringing started with a quick stop at the Chatterbox Jazz Club to meet my friend and fellow Fringer Melissa Gallant. Indy Arts Fans Ready to Grab Spotlight

I’m an arts fan and a sports fan, which means I’m living proof that the two are not mutually exclusive. And while I’ve chosen to contribute more of my time and money to the Indy arts scene, I certainly don’t begrudge the pro teams that anchor our world-class city (even though I cringe at the red-carpet treatment they receive). It’s all about the experience I’m seeking. And the experiences I have when I’m perusing works at a gallery, listening to the symphony or cheering in the stands at a game a… Continue

I've Been Woefully Wimpy About Caring for the Environment

Nothing dies harder than a bad habit. But at least I was willing to take my first step toward recovery by attending the Spirit & Place discussion titled Imagining Creation: Exploring the Spiritual Mandate for Creation Care.

Armed with a bottled water (strike one), I sat near the stage so I could hear each panelist pontificate about whether or not we have a moral obligation to care for the environment. Do we? I couldn’t wait to find out what they thought.

Although I’ve never hugged a tree a… Continue

Erin, saw your comment about ordering doug Karr's ebook. Did you get the worked out? Should have been an immediate download. If you had any trouble, don't hesitate to contact Doug. I know he'll take care of it.

Erin: Sounds like you enjoyed "murder/hope"! Hopefully I can squeeze it in sometime this week.

This is completely off-topic and random, but did I hear that you are going to study English Lit at Oxford? When I went to pick up mu media passes on Wednesday, Pauline mentioned completely out of the blue that a blogger named Erin was going to study at Oxford.

Erin: Hey, that's awesome. I really appreciate it. Either show (Saturday or Sunday) would do, as long as "murder/hope" can get the coverage. I have not picked up tickets for the show. I have a media pass (and backer button) that I'm told will get me into the half-dozen or so events that I have agreed to cover. I'll go ahead and let Erik that you'll either be at the 6 p.m. Saturday show or the 9 p.m. Sunday.

Erin: I'm one of the bloggers for Fringe Fest. If you are looking to pick up and review another event, could you do "murder/hope" on Sunday, Aug. 23, at 9 p.m. at TOTS2? I had committed to reviewing it, but I just had to schedule an appointment for Monday morning. It'd be a big help, if you could swing it. Please let me know! Thanks.

Thanks, Erin! I'm not that great of a writer, but I am trying :)

I didn't make it to the Anthaneum sale, but I am glad to hear it was kind of picked over, or else I might have been jealous!

Hi, Toni --- Thanks so much for your message. I just had to reschedule an appointment for Thursday at 11 a.m., so that shoots my idea for this week. Hmmm... Would you be able to give me some other possible dates? Are you free on any other Thursdays or Fridays? Maybe even July 3? If not, we can check the rest of July. And I'd love to come to Irvington.

Erin - Sorry I missed your comment from a couple of days ago. I would love to get some coffee. Could you meet around 11 am and are you able to meet in Irvington?

Hi Erin - It has been a while since we talked. I was wondering if you were still interested in getting together for coffee sometime? Hope things are going well for you.
