One Thing

You need to get better.

And guess what? So do I.

So does every single person on this planet. The Law of Entropy tells us that everything is in a constant state of decline. This includes our minds, or skills and our bodies.

As a result, there is no such thing as maintaining the status quo – you are either getting better or you are getting worse. Period, end of discussion.

The challenge in business is where to improve. There are too many choices.

Should I upgrade my website, hire a new salesp… Continue

Pushing thru the Recession talk

One of our clients forwarded me this great article about the upside of the recession. Follow the link and let me know what you think about the article!

" The upside of recession
If handled correctly, a downturn can be a good thing for your company. It can give you the opportunity - and the funds - to innovate and get a substantial leg up on the competition. "

I welcome a great discussion… Continue

A lesson in positive self-talk

To be completely honest with you, I'm typically one of those people who thinks positive self-talk is a goofy concept. I feel silly telling myself "I'm a good person, I have a great product..." etc. etc. What typically runs through my mind when I think about self-talk is the old Saturday Night Live skit: "Gosh darn it, people LIKE me!" However, in the past few months, and especially in the past few days, I've been confronted multiple times with the reality of just how dramatically your thoughts C… Continue

Goal Setting- how do you stay motivated?

This morning I had the opportunity to speak at a local networking group for women professionals and talked about goal setting. One of my points was the power of positive reinforcement- you need to focus on the GOOD that will come out of goal setting instead of using the fear motivator. I used the example about losing weight- if you tell yourself "I need to lose weight or I could suffer from a heart attack, etc. etc," your brain hears the negative- "you will suffer if you don't lose weight ." Ins… Continue

Hi Elizabeth,

Not sure, but you looked familiar and we have some mutual friends so I thought I would reach out. My company has recently changed its focus from the National to the local stage, so we are playing a little catch up and trying to connect to the web-savy, creative and socially aggressive professionals here in Indy. Thanks for the touch!

That is great. What a great cause ! I do community relations at IUPUI and that is a hot topic around here of how to keep high school students engaged. Our non profit, Giving Sum launched to a tremendous success!! We are very excited about it and are already about halfway to goal! It has been a bear to get through launching this thing though so if either of you ever have any questions make sure to hit me up! Good luck on a great cause!
