It is an easy and cheap up grade for apple with intel. Costs a little more for older versions. If you have intel based mac it doesn't take long at all. again with intel there isn't a need for a fresh install in fact they recommend not to, not sure...

To all that I was able to meet and have really cool conversations with last nite thank you for your time. For those that didn't attend or that I was unable to meet I look forward to future events to attend and meet even more of you interesting individuals. Thank you Pat, Kyle, Doug and anyone else involved with setting up this site. Big thank you to Lorraine for all efforts on the event last night.
