Hi Mike, I'm not going to apologize. I stand by my opinion (I'm allowed to have one of those, right?) that you were spamming SI to get members over to LI. As I say in my response to Dan Finney... I wish you and Linking Indiana well. I don't have...

Jon, I didn't want to start arguing with another person that I respect :). The bottom line is that I wish Mike well on Linking Indiana and hope he has a TON of impact in the community. Heck, I'm a member of Linking Indiana! However, I would neve...

Mike, Had you started the discussion with your 3rd paragraph, I would have cheered it on. Doug

Jim, I think this post would have been fantastic if it started on the Third Paragraph. The first one was an obvious link to get traffic back to Linking Indiana, the rest was great. Doug

Dan, Good points. I honestly didn't get past the promotion and the link. Doug

Honestly, you didn't offend me. This discussion was brought to my attention with the note, "Why is Mike promoting Linking Indiana" on "Smaller Indiana"? Smaller Indiana is for the benefit of all of its members - but we're very careful to not allo...

So this exact line is not promoting? "f you want more Indiana connections on LinkedIN, I maintain a (free) list of Hoosier open networkers (people that will connect with you if you ask) over at Linking Indiana." Really? Really?

Doing Business with Horizon Property Group

the-bean-cupThe Bean Cup is a special place. Despite a terribly maintained strip mall that's both empty and not visible from the road, Chris Carr was able to build a profitable business that employed 7 and improved the neighborhood. It's always been noted as one of the best coffee sho… Continue

Local Indy Real Estate Agent in Forbes

If you haven't seen it already, Paula Henry who runs one of the most popular real estate blogs in Indy got the spotlight on Forbes! Paula made the news when she argued with MIBOR on whether or not Real Estate Agents could each others' listings and get them indexed by Search Engines.
The online storm pushed the issue onto the agenda of the National Association of Realtors, the professional organization for real estate age

Why I watch Fox News (and don't apologize for it)

So the Whitehouse wants to battle Fox News (again).

I'm not a Republican. I'm even liberal in some of my views of how government can help people.

An Open Letter to Indiana about Life Sciences

There's no doubt how important Roche and Eli Lilly are to our economy here in central Indiana. As well, I'm forever appreciative of the work these folks do and the impact it will have on the human race. I have friends at both companies and have helped them with their technology and social media strategies. I'm looking forward to seeing how technology will transform their industries.

That said, my next remarks are not meant to anger the industry... rather to promote a different one. Indiana - pl… Continue

World Cup Soccer in Indianapolis?

Received this important notice from the Indiana Sports Corporation today!

Indianapolis was recently selected as one of 27 U.S. cities still being considered as a host city for the 2018 or 2022 FIFA World Cup. The host city selection process will continue over the next few months. It's time for Indiana and Indianapolis to prove how passionate we are about hosting this great event. We're challenging you to help us make Indiana the most-represented state for the USA Bid Committee's online petition… Continue

Hello Douglas,
I joined Smaller Indiana when I got laid off this winter and started networking.
I have since received my real estate license and are also selling auto's for toyota. This site has helped a great deal.
If there is anything I can help you with, please do not hesitate to ask.
See at the next event.

Hi Doug,

I briefly spoke with Pat last week about the new instant message widget that you integrated into the SI site. Is the widget itself something that was created specifically for the ning sites or is it free for all sites to use? I know Meebo just launched a new IM feature as a service, but would really like to integrate the feature into my non-ning site for free. Is there a way to do this?

Any help is very appreciated.

Thanks,

Arik Flanders
