Interesting. Would you mind if I edit the originals to see what may be in them? They look like great captures. Wizard@PixelPurfect.com if you don't mind me tinkering with em. I'll send back edits in the same resolution you send and respect your co...

Great images Paul. I'm with Chris, I really like the two bridge shots. In the one taken up on top of the bridge, the shadow on the right looks a bit odd. Did you add that?

Ahhhh, you stirred this thought David. "Goodbye Stranger" - Supertramp. Listen here "Now some they do and some they don't and some you just can't tell And some they will and some they won't, with some it's just as well You can laugh at my behavi...

I had lost hope until we held them to a field goal late in the fourth and we were only 13 points down. I think that fired the Colts up, they realized they could win with two quick scores. Not tie, win!

Yes it would be helpful if we could all use "mood" emoticons too. Pat? :o)

After reading for a bit, I decided to google "cool." Wikipedia agrees it's just as expressed in this post. "There is no single concept of cool. One of the essential characteristics of cool is its mutability—what is considered cool changes over ti...

I think if your hearts pumpin and your neurons are firin, you're pretty cool. My neighbor died last spring after a long fight with cancer. She was cool and engaging right up until she rested. Philosophically speaking, there is no proof that anyth...

Mike, I'm happy to see you engage. I'm unsure about your opening comment though. Why should we challenge Matthew's wining? Isn't that what we see all around us. The round tables on TV, the talking heads, they are always challenging something or ea...

Retouching the World, one image at a time!

“Your photography is a record of your living, for anyone who really sees.”
̶̶̶ ̶ Paul Strand (American Photographer, 1890-1976)

I strive to improve the image without changing the story.

My name is David and I'm a photo retouch artist. I started out studying photography at The Art Institute of Houston in the early 80's. I moved to Tulsa and began a career as a commercial photographer, but after I built my second darkroom I found that I liked the darkroom as much, if not more than being behind the camera. Although I have remained an avid photographer the computer age came along and my formal training was electronics, so it was a natural progression to get into computer IT and become a geek.

In 2006 I was in a serious car accident and had a long recovery (100% if you don't count the occasional vertigo ). Anyway, I decided I would change my focus and I began learning everything I could about Photoshop and Illustrator. Just as I had taught myself photography a long time ago, I started teaching myself the art of photo retouching. I'm obsessed now and I don't see any end in sight.

I have great color perception and a wonderful attention to detail. I see things most don't and my wife hates to shop for clothes without me, she says “because I'm so good with colors." Yeah right, I say thanks 'hot rod' and spend the day with her anyway. I love her to death. ;o)

I really want to be a great success with my retouching skills. I think it's always been in my blood to make things look as good as possible, some would call that a perfectionist trait. Maybe so!

Currently I'm happy to retouch one or two quality images without charge as a way to build my portfolio and possibly help others with their goals too. Feel free to contact me or send images you would like retouched to Wizard@PixelPurfect.com and I'll let you know which ones I would like to retouch. You must be the model and/or the copyright holder or have permission to request the retouch. Please include your user name when you contact me via email. That's how I organize my work.

All the best,

David
