Of course...
Location:
Typically we hold our Downtown Forums in the Greenfield Chamber of Commerce building (immediately South of the Courthouse on State St). We shoot for the last Thursday of the month, and have been alternating start times of 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM meetings each month, October is slated as an evening month. This month is an oddball, we are working with Greenfield Banking Company and will have it on the Wed the 12th and will be meeting at their main office. The Small Business Administration will be doing a presentation there from 7:30-9:30 AM.

Audience:
The audience is essentially people that have a vested interested in seeing downtown succeed. They are business owners, civic leaders (Riley Festival, Hancock County Visitors Bureau, Main Street of course, some times even the mayor will come), as well as residents. In regards to technology they really run the gamut, from Donna Johnson the facebooking, tweeting co-owner of the Bread Ladies or Brian Mason, selling his popcorn online, to people that hardly turn on a PC.

Granted, it's not likely the typical engagement you would normally speak to. We are primarily concerned with how we can make downtown better. This is very broad as it can relate to how we brand it, how we promote it, how we work together on events, work towards grants for facade improvements, etc. I approached you because aside from your relevance in the blogging / social media realm, you have the additional relevance of being a resident so I am curious on your insights.

Naturally you can speak to whatever you like as you see relevant. Perhaps you bring your own you may have ideas that you may want to voice. Or as an business person you may have advice that has served you well that you would like to share with some of the these small shop owners. Or as a technological innovator, you may want to share in the value of extended web presences, social networking, and of course, blogging in building a brand for their businesses and our downtown community to increase our visibility. You may have something entirely different in mind.

We are open to topics, the point is to provide a little education to those who attend that we can all use and benefit from.

Hello Chris,

I am on the Board for Greenfield Main Street and noticed your endorsement of the city during an interview I came across recently. This gave me an idea, as a passionate resident of Greenfield and sucessful entrepreneur in your own right I wondered if you would be interested in addressing a group of downtown business owners, civic leaders and residents? Thus far we have been calling these informal discussions our "Downtown Forums". Thus far we have had our speakers take anywhere from 10 minutes to the entire hour so the format is very open. Would you be interested?

Chris,
Thanks for letting me tag along on your white water rafting excursion a couple of weeks ago. I had a great time! You have a great group of people working with you at Compendium, and it was a lot of fun getting to know them and take on the rapids together. Thanks again!

Hi Chris,

I saw that you were on the Business Roundtable Network (BRN) discussion in Smaller Indiana.   We have our biggest event in our short history (Jan. 2009 until now) coming up next week.   If ever there was a time to get involved with BRN now would be the time. It would be great to have you as a part of that.
Hope to see you next Thursday.  See details below.

Hi Chris,

Yes, I'm still searching... What positions are you looking to fill? I applied for the Client Success Manager opening through the website a couple of months ago.

Thanks!
