Helping People in Job Transition is Rewarding

I have been working on helping people in Job Transition for a few years now ( on the side ) for FREE. Since I have always been a good networker, lots of people have sent me their resumes to "keep my eyes open" and other companies and clients send me job postings because I have a "good eye" for talent.

By December 2008 I had more of these emails then I could handle, but I still wanted to help as many people as possible. After being a part of SI almost since the beginning, I decided to do somethi… Continue

The Crisis of Credit Visualized -- The best explanation in Plain English I have ever seen so far.

The Crisis of Credit Visualized from Jonathan Jarvis on Vimeo.
WELL after watching this, I couldn't have put it better myself. Although this minimizes the Government's involvement in the debauchle, this pretty much explains what happened. one word GREED.

I look forward to the SI comments on this post. Continue

FAQs About COBRA For Workers And Their Families

Q1: I have heard that the Stimulus package signed by the President included a new temporary COBRA premium reduction. I would like more information.
COBRA (the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985) provides for a temporary extension of employer-provided group health coverage, commonly called COBRA continuation coverage. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) expands eligibility for CO… Continue

Thanks for the kind words Ben. We may never agree completely on HCR but the debate was fun to watch and cover. Yes the camera does add 15 pounds, it is called barrel distortion, something us photographers constantly battle against. If you need portraits for yourself or your family please let me know, and check out my website at www.photoindica.com.

Hey Ben, just got back from ITT Tech where I gave a 3-hour presentation -- using social media to find a job -- to faculty and students. Thought you'd like to know I introduced them to your site, Catalist Jobs and left fliers for the unconference. I hope some will attend.

Hi Ben, I travel as often as my schedule permits - unfortunately that's only about once a month. I'd love to eventually work my way into a freelance travel writer position and have the excuse to travel for work! Since I'm fairly new to Indy I love to take overnight trips to all edges of the state (Madison is one of my favorite places) as well as the states nearby. In Ca. I had to fly for short trips - I love the centralized location of Indianapolis & of Indiana... thanks for asking. Have a great day! ~Kristen

Hey Benn thanks for the welcome letter I would like to chat more about the environment, your dad and your business as well. The first of the year has been overwhelming. Add to that the fact that before Christmas I had never been on any social networking sites and now am trying to manage four of them. I wanted to let you know also that I saw your post on the Mitch's facebook page.

Thanks again for the shout out.

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. "Blatant self-promotion" is discouraged on SI, and "spam" is not welcome. Please be considerate of your fellow members.
