This group is for those wishing to network for business (and laughs) at a downtown location.

Annie, I once had a woman ask me if I was a "dater". We were already having a conversation and she asked me this and I was like, "Well, I actually haven't been on a date in awhile". She laughed and said, "no, no, that's not what I mean". She then we…

I am going to make it to North Indy Networkers at Mudsocks. It's a nice restaurant/bar and there's lots of parking. I have 2 listing appointments tomorrow, so I'm not sure I can make it to First Friday downtown. But see Nancy Lee's page here. Her gr…

Truth be told we only got married because we were planning to have children. We understood that legally it makes things easier. We were as happy and secure in our relationship when we were "living in sin" as we are now. :)

Excellent food for thought so far! Michael, I agree. I never read any of the books about how to get married when I was single because I didn't care if I got married. I am sure some are sound, and some are poody. I agree with this author to a certain…

Mr. (or Mrs.) Perfect doesn't exist, and it's important that everyone realize it. That being said, there are situations in which one settles for less than what makes them happy, and that is the problem. I settled for several years believing that was…

Another useless women's manual about men. Marriage is an overrated concept and the 50% divorce rate backs me up. Women and men need to learn how to communicate with one another without all of the b.s. interference from friends, magazines, books, etc…

I would say that both me and my ex both settled for each other too fast and didn't date long enough to get to know each other. I like your thoughts on on Mr/Mrs. Perfect!

The Wonder of You

2009 was the first year of my business. What a stinky, gnarly flop it was through the first several months.Except for the fact that I learned so many powerful lessons, and being a stubborn, tenacious little bat, I am now ready for success.

The most powerful lesson I learned was to be myself, something I have always had trouble doing. You see, I have always stood out like a sore thumb in one way or another. Not on purpose, mind you, but just by nothing more than doing what comes naturally. I lau… Continue

"Do not be angry with me if I tell you the truth." Socrates

This was the title of the holiday greeting I received from my fabulous chiropractor, Dr. Shawn Benzinger. Kinda reminded me of the refrain from that song: "Things that make ya go hmmm...." What could he say that had the potential to yank my chain?

"Ah ha," I said to myself as I began to peruse the letter. Dr. Benzinger had decided to remind us all of the evils of sugar, a subject that yes, indeed, will chap the behinds of some. As a former sugar addict who knows from experience how utterly vile… Continue

This is Getting Hairy!

Men have very different ideas than we do about what women like about them, wouldn’t you say, ladies? I think so. Guys, listen up. I am about to spill some female beans to ya’ll that could heavily boost your chick appeal (and also provide a better business image).

Myth #1 Men need hair to be visually appealing and considered virile

FALSE! FALSE! I beg of you, please briefly consider Michael Bolton. Horrid! Nothing worse than a wispy pate and cascading locks. Or Donald Trump. GAAAHHHH! Why, when… Continue

Self-care for the Chronically Busy

Taking care of ourselves usually winds up last on the list for business owners. I thought grad school was a time management challenge---ha ha ha! Then I started my own business. Wow. That made grad school seem like a leisurely stroll on a balmy May day. I have learned along the way, however, that if I don't take time for me, I can pucker up and kiss my productivity good bye. I get plain old exhausted and can't think my way out of a paper bag. My decision making stinks. I wind up doing everything… Continue

Color My World

"Color My World" by those cheesy chortlers from the band Chicago is one of my favorite songs to sing when I feel all lovey dovey about my husband. It also blasts in my cranial area when I help my clients dress in clothing that conveys the message they desire. As an image consultant, part of my job is teaching about using color in wardrobe to send messages.

What you wear tells the story of you. It is your visual vocabulary. So, what do you want to say? What colors will drive your message home? J… Continue

I would only want to be 120, provided I was in good health and could keep up with older women.

Hey have you met Keltie Domina? I wrote a freelance story about her last year and in addition to owning Keltie's restuarant in Westfield she is a ettiquite coach, which, to me seems to be an outdated version of what you do. You both have great talent, but in my mind's eye, you would both work well together to offer something that would be unique to Indiana, mixing her established ettiquite cops and your fresh look at style and embrace of social media would be something marketable and unique in Indiana. Add in a guy not afraid to speak to men like you did in your hair post - hmmmmmmmm
