The Power of Color

Everyday an inspiring business owner tries their hand at designing their companies logo, letterhead, business cards, marketing materials and even their website.

Although I always believe you should consult with a professional designer ;), I do understand that when you are a small business or start up the funds are not always there for a designer.

I'm starting up a series of blog posts regarding "The power of" and will be highlighting a different topic of design each week. I hope you all find t… Continue

The importance of your brand!

The importance of your brand!

I know most people have heard that it is important to brand your company, yet I continue to meet companies each day that have a great product, service or idea yet they continue to miss the mark on the simple and easy ways to brand your company without spending much money.

What does branding mean? The American Marketing Association (AMA) defines a brand as a "name, term, sign, symbol or design, or a combination of them intended to identify the goods and services of… Continue

Hi Angela,
I'd like to give Janus Development a call this week. Is it alright if I use your name when I do? I'll be calling Christina Horn who is VP of Development unless you think I should be talking to someone else.

Hi Angela, I would love for the group to come out. Best time is late July and August when all the veggies and herbs and eat sweet corn right off the stalk. Weather is warm too. Lets stay in touch and I would love to come to one of the group's gathering to meet everyone. When planning a gathering here....we will post a list on how to dress...very relaxed and good walking shoes for the walking paths. Stay in touch. It is a honor to part of the group. Shel

Thanks for the welcome Angela! I'm looking forward to it, too. And I'm glad to share more about Heart Link - I'm so excited about it!

The Heart Link Network is an amazing networking event created specifically by and for women! Heart Link is a perfect setting for everyone to do more than hand out a business card...you'll find yourself conversing, connecting, and really networking with a group of like-minded women.

It is a non-membership group, meaning you can come when it works for you and you simply pay as you go. This also means that each month there will be an interesting mix of people who have attended before and those who have not. The cost of each Heart Link event is just $20. Be one of those people who "come linked" (with a new-to-the-network friend) and it's $30 for the two of you!

Attendess come with business cards, brochures, flyers, or any samples that will showcase their business. After our informal networking meal, we will come together as a group and each attendee will have three minutes to share the highlights of her offerings. Remember that women network differently than men...we are not together to grab business cards and go home...we want to connect, learn, share and grow...and ultimately help each other get the business we deserve! Referrals come naturally for us, so we always pass on what we learn to others we know who need what YOU have!

Attendees at each event are industry-exclusive, so we truly have the opportunity to "shine" during the event. And each attendee will be provided with a roster with all business and contact information for all attendees so we can be prepared to support each other through direct business and referrals.

Ok - a little lengthy, but hopefully answers a lot of your questions! Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any others...

Thanks!
Karla

Hi Angela, this is wonderful! I assume the group posts events, location, date and time of monthly gathering? I would like to offer our sustainable farm for a retreat place for the group. We have a 17 acre sustainable organic vegetable herb, and fruit farm where we have 2 miles of easy walking paths with streams along the paths. We have a moderate size covered gazebo and moderate size front porch great for outdoor gatherings, tree house and bon fire area close to our home. Three bathrooms. Everyone who visits never goes away empty handed with fresh picked corn, squash and herbs. The energy is wonderful here and we are 5 minutes west of state road 37 in Bloomington. Our dearest friend Jeff Meese and neighbor who has 77 acres across street has 20 water buffalos, pigs. Jeff owns express pizza, lennies (upscale eatery here) and bloomington brewry. We usually have joint gatherings so everyone can go back and forth between the properties. I look forward meeting everyone, networking and empowering each other. Shel
