Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Greetings.

My name is Xavier and I am from Tampa of all places. I signed up on this site for this group alone. I have a Word Press issue and I need help in finding out if I can resolve it. In turn of course I am happy to offer up any knowledge on everything and anything tech in return.

My Issue...

I need to create a Word Press site the can be private to only registered users and that when you type in the url, you are taken to the login screen/registration screen.

I was initially told I could make certain pages private though not the whole site. I have since learned to mix and match plug-ins. I am using these plug-ins...

Confirm User Registration - Admins have to confirm a user registration - a notification will be send when the account gets activated

Force User Log-in - A really small plug-in that forces a user to log-in before being able to view any blog content.

Register Plus - Enhance your Registration Page. Add Custom Logo, Password Field, Invitation Codes, Disclaimer, Captcha Validation, Email Validation, User Moderation, Profile Fields and more.

and

Private Only - Redirects all non-logged in users to login form

Using all of these together I have been able to make the site "proclaim" that it is accessible by invitation only. Also if you click on the registration page everything there is customized to suite.
The issue I keep having is that I can not seem to get it to all come together.

When you click on the URL it goes straight into the page without going to the registration page at all. I am wondering if anyone knows how it would be possible to create a private word press site with forced registration and administrative confirmation before the end user can view the Word Press site ?

Hope I haven't turned your brain to mush ? I recently started with Word Press so as you can see I am still a NOOB in this, though I am really interested in learning more and would be happy to take help in any way I can get it.

Thanks. - Xaver

Xaver,

If you don't want to utilize a plugin, let me know. It's actually quite simple to modify your site utilizing the same technique I just wrote about on protecting individual pages in WordPress.
