Making people and ideas findable

This sounds like a potentially fun group. Do we start with wine or business? I vote for wine. Some of my best memories of good conversation have started with a good glass of vino.

In fact, I find the best wines are usually discovered through networking. You meet people with similar tastes in wine. You share your experiences about wines you know and like and voila! More good wine and great networking.

So here is one of my more recent favorites. Nothing too fancy or expensive. Just very enjoyable. Eventus Zinfandel Primitivo - 2005. My wife and I tasted it for the first time at Matteo's Ristorante in Noblesville. Great Italian food!

You got it! It is something we have in common, so it is a start to a great relationship. Just wandering where to start, any suggestions from anyone as far as just pick an evening and we can all meet somewhere. I guess I need to hear feedback.

We could always go to the Hop Shop. They do free wine and beer tastings. A great launching point and place to meet others interested in trying new wines. I'm pretty sure most of the other better wine shops provide the same type of environment. It all depends on what location works best for everyone.

Hop shop? Sounds very interesting. I like the idea, but where is it located. Let us know and I'll arrange some time.Sounds great. Thanks!

Hop Shop is just East of Keystone on 96th Street. They are located in a little plaza right behind the Claddagh. The address is 3855 E 96th St.

I don't think they will host a tasting just for our group, but we can go to one of their regular Saturday tastings. Here is a little excerpt from their site about their tastings www.indyhopshop.com.

"We feature free tastings every Saturday at The Hop Shop tasting bar. You can sample different products including wines, beers, liquors, and specialty foods. Our tastings vary from week to week, in terms of what we sample, so call us with questions, or even better, stop on by to check it out for yourself. If you're like us, you'll be excited to try something new. After all, your own taste buds are the most reliable judge of what you like."

Deano's Vino in Fountain Square also has tastings every Wednesday at 6pm. They charge $5 but they also have entertainment. They are located at 1112 S Shelby Street. This one might suit Michael Fields needs better since it is in downtown.

I will check out a couple of other wine shop sites that offer similar tastings.

I have been to Matteo's they had great food and wine. It is right downtown Noblesville, I think that Amalfi on 86th and Ditch and Matteo's are brothers? at least I thought that I heard that. If that is the case they are both terrific, we will look at schedules and go from there. Look forward to hearing from you all.

Divine a wine bar and Something different which are pretty close, any other thoughts?

I am up for the wine night, however we just added our newest family member to our family and my time is thin. I also think iam the only person on the southside, so I vote for downtown, but I know I am mostly alone on that, so plan where ever and if I can make it I'll be there.

Anytime (with a little advance notice) on the northside would be excellent. Fishers just lost the best little pub in the world and I'm not sure of another place North East. After many years in sales I can say that I have made more friends out of contacts at a get together than I ever have in the boardroom.

I am waiting for all the responses, we will determine where the best place based on you feedbacks and go from there. Thanks should be fun!
