Making people and ideas findable

UPA World Usability Day

The theme for 2009 is:
Designing for a Sustainable World

Start planning today for our 5th anniversary of World Usability Day!
It will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2009

The fifth annual World Usability Day (WUD), Designing for a Sustainable World. As part of World Usability Day, the Indiana Chapter of the Usability Professionals’ Association is hosting an event on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 8:00am – 4:00pm to promote the exchange of ideas on sustainability as it relates to usability and product development. Everyone with an interest in usability is invited!

What is Sustainability?
Recycling, Reducing, Reusing, Restoring

Why are we talking about usability and sustainability? Usability is no longer only about ease of use; it is about how we use our products and technology. Effective and quality usability must look at the impact products have on the environment. Products must be user friendly AS WELL AS environmentally friendly.

1. Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

4. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.
