Social Marketing is going well for me so far. Hit 200 followers on twitter today (http://twitter.com/jamespaden <- connect with me!). I do need to be more involved locally and on Smaller Indiana. Any suggestions for that?

Twitter has been great for me to connect to peers in my industry outside of Indiana.

I have an extra ticket to the Blog Indiana conference at IUPUI this weekend. You can find out more in the Blog Indiana group. Call me if you're interested: 812-251-9105.

Jim, you're never too old to Tweet on Twitter! How would you like to use Twitter? I just saw an 84-year old woman featured on the news last week who uses Twitter, Flickr, FaceBook, etc. Off to check out your recommendation for Diigo.

I set up twitter but I guess it's not my thing - maybe I'm too old to appreciate it. I can however see good business application for a tool called Diigo. You can share selected bookmarks(favorites) with your friends and both highlight and comment on the web site content. Great collaboration tool.

Of course, twitter. Why not?

I run a consulting firm here in Indy. Besides developing websites for customers, we do some for fun as well. FileHurricane.com is our most successful one, but we are trying to figure out how to further engage users into the site by using our comment system, registering for an account, etc.

I wanted to see if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks!

Alex

The popular social media sites have kind of redefined social media.
Originally I think it was a much broader definition that included collaborative research tools. I hear Twitter is good for that, but again I 'd rather not share everything with everybody, yet.

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
