A friend just sent me a link to Indy Ethnic Food - a site with listings and ratings for over 2,000 ethnic restaurants in the Indianapolis area. Included are recipes, ratings, info on whether it is local or a chain, favorites, and a whole lot more.

Here's the link: http://www.indyethnicfood.com/

I've just started a Smoosiers Favorite Restaurants map on Google. I'd like to allow Smoosiers to start posting their favorite restaurants, so if you want to participate, you need to send me your email address so I can add you as a collaborator.

You can see the Smoosiers Favorite Restaurants Map here.

To post a restaurant, please do the following (I’d like to keep some consistency, so try to follow these steps):

1. Click “Find businesses” at the top of the map window.
2. Type in the restaurant name and the city.
3. When the icon appears on the map, click on Save to My Maps. Save it to Smoosiers Favorite Restaurants.
4. In the Edit window, delete the word Restaurant. Put in a dash and then the country or type of cuisine (i.e. Scottish, pizza, fusion, tapas, etc.)
5. If you have a note to add, put it in the text window.
6. If you want to change the marker, click the marker icon in the upper right hand corner of the window.
7. Please do not delete the “more info »” line in the window – that’s the link that leads to reviews and other information.
8. Click OK, and you’re done. Good job!
9. Once you join, feel free to invite other collaborators. Just make sure they are Hoosiers (even better if they’re Smoosiers, but that’s not required).

Restaurants can be anywhere around the state, not just Indianapolis.

One of my best friends here in Indy (Kyle Hendrix) and many others I know are working hard to create the Indy Food Coop to supply us all with fresh locally grown and sustainably grown produce as well as other delictables! Please email IndyFoodCoop(at)yahoo.com for more details! Best, Chris

If you are looking for restaurants (w/ special offers) around Indianapolis, check out www.indydining.com.
(sorry for the blatant promotion, I simply feel it is a good tool to use)

I love Perked Up! I stopped by there with a friend a couple months ago and I LOVED it! I am allergic to milk, so the owner offered me a steamer with soy milk -- mind you, I don't like soy milk -- and the steamer tasted great!

I just met with Eric Decker for coffee this afternoon and a bit of networking (met at Rainmakers for those of you asking how we all are networking these days - refer to another blog) at a delightful coffee shop in Broad Ripple called "Perked Up". It is located at 6636 Cornell (right next to the Monon). If you are tired of the same old, same old, try a local one! Thanks for introducing it to me Eric!
