Has anyone been to Taste of Tango? It is now open, they offer organic food, everything is made to order. The bread is even made there. Its on Washington Street right down from the Indiana Roof Ballroom.

Hello everyone! this is exciting to see so many people interested in natural, great tasting food. I believe that local food and fresh produce is the way to go. I am currently working with a chef who is starting an innovative dinning experience that incorporates these things in his dishes, so if anyone knows of some local farmers who are willing to partner up let me know. Also we would like to do the same with wine and do pairings with the food....so local wine is of need as well. Thank you!

Hello everyone!!

National Pie Day is coming up on Jan. 23, so be sure to remember the Hoosier favorite, Sugar Cream Pie.

IFA is working toward making Sugar Cream Pie an official Indiana food. You can help by voting at the Indianapolis Star.

http://www.indystar.com/ - - The poll is located on the right side close to the bottom. Almost 5,000 have voted, so please do the same!!

Thanks,
Susan

Colorado was my home for 23 years, and every Christmas I visit my son in Denver. On Christmas day we cook a big meal that focuses on local CO ingredients. This years is was local lamb that came from a ranch close to Steamboat Springs, (my home for 13 years), which was wrapped in phyllo with mint pesto and roasted red pepper. The main course was local venison with a blackberry and balsamic reduction. My daughter-in-law puts up food like crazy, so we had a parsnip and potato mash from their garden. Need I say more? Oh, and the wines were all from CO wineries. Too bad Indiana laws prevent us form being able to enjoy these beauties. This evening we're in Boulder where I'm sure we"ll sample some local brew and visit some of our old favorite haunts.
CO has some great food that's locally derived, but IN has CO beat hands down when it comes to produce. It completely has to do with our rich IN soil, but there's still lots of local to be enjoyed out here.
And then of course there's the weather and scenery...beautiful.

Just wanted to let you all know that there is a new coffee roaster in town. Artemis Coffee Roasters is in the back room of my coffee shop. Currently Sandy is roasting for Bjava, but she hopes to get involved in some farmer's markets and do some online sales. So, if you like great fresh roasted coffee stop in and see what she has stocked my shelves with.

My son just moved back to Indiana from Mississippi, he is an executive chef looking for a position as an executive chef. He has a great resume and plenty of good references. If you hear of any place you think would be good for him to send his resume please pass it on. thank you

Hi Folks,
I want to let you know about Local Folks Foods. These people know how to cook up a pasta sauce, as well as a great blueberry topping/jam called Purple Haze. We buy it at the Bloomington Farmers Market, and it's also available at Bloomingfoods. They're also consummate mushroom growers. I'll be enjoying their mushrooms again as soon as the Winter Market in Bloomington starts in January.

Hey Beth,
I'm one of the owner of Strange Brew coffee. We use a local roaster for our coffee, and have it available in whole bean, or these little pre-ground bags that hold 1 pot of coffee. We use them in our gift baskets, and Mallow Run Winery used some in their gift baskets as well. Shoot me a message if you want to talk about it!
