Check out the video from the Throwdown Hoedown at Skillington Farms last weekend. Slow Foods indy organized the event. Great food and good farm fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2nmgOlQEA4 Look for the next event Aug. 4th with Big City Farms and a pig roast at R Bistro.

We are just outside McCordsville, on the NE side. 5 minutes from Geist, 10 minutes from Fishers, 20 minutes from downtown. Here is a map link: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=3365+W+State+Rd+234%2C+McCordsville%2C+IN

Mark Apple Comment by Mark Apple on June 19, 2009 at 9:51am
I want to invite everyone to our farm, Apple Family Farm, for our Rock the Farm Fridays starting June 26. Our goal is to build community, slow down a bit and enjoy our common interests. We will have the espresso machine going, the beans will be roasted the day before, grills will be going for anyone that wants to use them. Bring blankets or lawn chairs. There will be plenty of farm animals for the kids to interact with. We'll play music and have meaningful discussions on whatever. Please know you and your family are welcome! VCS has started an outreach program and in the month of June
we are focusing our efforts on raising money to help provide fans
for those in need who don’t have air conditioning during the hot summer months.

To that end we are holding a fundraiser that I think will be VERY easy to swallow!!!

Just take the ticket I have attached to this and have either lunch or dinner
at either UNO Grill in Indianapolis on June 26th.
Uno will donate 20% of your meal to this worthy cause.

We will combine the money generated by this fundraiser with the money we set aside from each Service call VCS performs this month and we hope to reach our goal of $1000.

Please help us reach our goal and enjoy a great meal in the process.

Thanks

Dan

PS make as many copies of this ticket as you want and give them away to friends and family. They can help us too.

Pass on the information to someone you think may fit the criteria. Then let them decide whether they would like to be involved. I did go check them out last week, the Mayor of Ft. Wayne is involved with thier project. Our business, Midwest Organic Coffee Company was approached last week and asked to participate. We accepted. We are going to recommend Hoosier Organic Connection. We can alway change our mind if it is not something we want to be involved in.

How do we respond to this? There was nA message from A Brewster Smythe to all members of Smaller Food Indiana on Smaller Indiana!

Waynedale Green Alliance, LTD is compiling a unique publication highlighting Green Leaders in Indiana. Please forward anyone you believe fits the following criteria.
1) Has led a community in bringing local food to the forefront.
2) Is working dilligently to foster local sustainable growth
3) Wants to share their knowledge with the coming generations.

The local organic food movement is outstanding in Indiana. We want to highlight it in our book. Please help us do so.!
