Register with us and allow us to be a big part of your next annual fundraiser!

Do you an artist or organization desire to make a difference in the world; are you passionate about your work, or gift? Isn’t it time you had a great website that actually represents your work? The Gift of Art Network is a non for profit organization established to unite artist with Charitable Organizations for the purpose of supporting humanity worldwide, by offering artists an opportunity to showcase their works of art in a unique forum. The Gift of Art Network http://www.tgoan.org will build you a beautiful, functional website that is easy to navigate and is very user friendly, a design that will capture the attention of your visitors during that crucial first few seconds.

There are many worthwhile organizations struggling to provide the most basic of human services. Whether you're a 501(c)3 non-profit or a grassroots organization, we want to help you. We are a volunteer, friendship based, open network designed in bringing charitable organizations together to help share experience, expertise, resources, financial responsibility, provide answers and solutions to today’s ever increasing social issues.

In an effort to provide organizations with additional funding and support we offer special initiatives to help expand your networking capabilities to more communities around the country by linking with one another.

If your organization is hosting a fundraiser TGOAN would like to be part it. We promote the work of charitable organizations through the sale of donated works of art where seventy percent (70%) of the money generated from the sale of the donated art will go directly to the charitable organizations designated by the artist, or art buyer. TGOAN’s inventory of art, gifted to us by many amazing and talented artists will be auctioned off at your event. We offer seventy percent of all monies generated though the sale of the art to your organization.

Thanks to your help, The Gift of Art Network's growing number of compassionate partners can now connect more people and children than ever before.

Summer Interns Available at No Cost

Employers who may be seeking summer interns, who may need some extra help, or who may want to dedicate a few weeks to a good cause, consider hosting a high school summer intern through the Common Goal Program.

The Common Goal Initiative is spearheaded by the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce and a collaboration of educators, community organizations, and businesses leaders who are working to increase the high school graduation rate in Marion County. As part of the Initiative, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce has collaborated with the Indianapolis Chamber to help provide at-risk high school students with internship opportunities during the summer.

We are currently searching for employers to host Marion County high school students accepted into the program. Participating employers host students for 80 hours during the summer, usually 4 weeks/20 hours per week at no cost to the employer, as Common Goal provides the internship wage. The students’ interests vary across diverse industries, and this opportunity will help define and narrow the career path they choose. Prior to the start of the internships, students are trained through a series of business workshops in preparation for their real world job experiences.

This is a great opportunity to gain extra help during the summer while making a meaningful impact in the life of one or more high school students. The Common Goal Initiative has already helped increase the graduation rate 4.72 percent in the 2008-2009 school year over the prior year. Consider this opportunity to become part of the Common Goal Mission today. Also, please refer anyone you believe may be interested. Contact the Indiana INTERNnet Program Coordinator, Pat Patterson, at ppatterson@indianachamber.com or 317-264-6863.

@Joe and @Chad <= I respect you both greatly as social media advocates and I'm glad #Indiana has two smart geeks in Ft. Wayne who "GET" twitter. You just have different styles, and both work for your respective audiences. Do you think that's a fair assessment?

@Jon - I never wanted to imply ALL marketing focus should be on twitter. I'm stating that a strategic Twitter campaign MUST be set up NOW or organizations in #Indiana will fall woefully behind.

NO small - medium sized organization in central #Indiana that I have encountered- for-profit or non - is leveraging twitter's FULL potential. The one thing NO organization should do when they first get on twitter is to blast broadcast messages and expect ANY results.

I know several organizations who think they have a brilliant twitter strategy--they send out one tweet a day about a fund-raising event, or a donate button, or an ad for the organization's blog post. They are NOT engaging, they are not showing their humanity, they are NOT conversing or building community, they are BROADCASTING. Much like our friend Victor below - who has been blasting messages to several different groups on Smaller #Indiana.

Social media platforms come and go, but the basic 140 characters sent via Internet Protocol globally - at the speed of light - at the grassroots level will not go away. Just like the telephone never went away, or microwave ovens.

Joe - We agree to disagree. Your opinion (like always) is highly respected by me. I look forward to discussing during the next tweet up. :)
Joe Dager Comment by Joe Dager on January 9, 2010 at 3:48pm
@Jon I do think @Chad disagrees. I know I do. There is a huge separation in our fundamental beliefs.

As far as an orgs(I have never called them that) goal being to raise money, I think most would believe their cause is the focus, not the money. I do not look at Social Media as a way for a Nonprofit to have a camouflaged Donate Here button. I look at it as a way for them to build community and support about their cause. If your comments were placed in a different group, I would have a different response, but in this group I think you are way off base.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. "Blatant self-promotion" is discouraged on SI, and "spam" is not welcome. Please be considerate of your fellow members.
