I hope you do not mind if I give a plug? In an effort to not waste resources - human, financial and other - I ask you to please pass on the information about the SAVI conference next week Wednesday, April 22 and Thursday, April 24. The posting is right here on Smaller Indiana by the IUPUIs Polis Center.
Thank you and I encourage nonprofits to attend, network with me and others and learn.
Thank you for reading my post.
Peace,
Dani

SustaIN: Indiana’s Green Ideas and Networking Event is scheduled for Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 10am-4pm at the Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station in Downtown Indianapolis.

The event is a unique forum for students, business professionals, and the general public to meet with and learn from Indiana’s research and industry leaders about green and sustainability initiatives and practices.

David Forsell, Executive Director of Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Incorporated, will provide the keynote address. Attendees can participate in panel discussions with business leaders and university researchers on sustainability topics including alternative energy and green building. In addition, Indianapolis-area high school and college students will be presenting their green ideas in poster sessions throughout the event. Local businesses are encouraged to register as exhibitors to showcase their green/sustainability projects.

SustaIN is sponsored by the Career Development Professionals of Indiana and Direct Employers JOBcentral, and is hosted by the Indiana Collegiate and Multicultural Career Fair Advisory Board, in partnership with the Indiana Sustainability Alliance (INSA), the Bezos Family Foundation, and Lawrence North High School.

Registration for SustaIN is free, but required for all attendees. For more information, please visit www.sustainindiana.org or contact Scott Feeny at sfeeny@iupui.edu, or (317) 274-3215.

We're working out the logistics now with Chase Tower management. Our office is right around the corner at Michigan & Pennsylvania. Lacking a better plan, just drop off your stuff at 101 E Michigan and we'll make sure it gets on the truck.

Thanks!

We're sponsoring The Chase Tower eCycling event on April 22. If you have old computer equipment (anything with a cord ;) - but aren't a tenant in the Chase Tower - let me know and we'll arrange a drop off point nearby.

Hello Everyone. Wanted to reach out to the group and see if any of you can suggest or have any short "kid-friendly" articles I can post in a new "free" children's educational magazine I am bringing to Marshall County mid-April? In recognition of "Earth Day" on April 21st, wanted to include a short article that would encourage our children to "take care of the earth"? Looking forward to any feedback. Thanks,

Hello to everyone !! I have a piece of property at Michigan and Gladstone on the east side of Indy. I am interested in finding a nursery in town that could either donate or be willing to give a discount on me purchasing peach or apple trees and using it for a green space. I would like to get started on my project sometime in April. If you have any suggestions let me know. I will use this space and let the neighbors pick the fruit off the trees for free!

A few things to consider before joining Smaller Indiana:
1. Please use your real name (first and last) when you sign up, or we cannot open your account

2. Please do not use logos or commercial images for your profile photo

3. Events should be posted in the events calendar

4. You can post pretty much anything you want on your own personal page (self promotion, etc), and you can change the style of your personal profile page to reflect your corporate identification if you so choose.

5. Please keep all comments civil and polite. It's OK to feel strongly about a subject, and it's OK to be critical of ideas, but please refrain from personal attacks of any kind.

If you witness or experience any issues, please contact admin@smallerindiana.com and we will look into the matter.

6. Smaller Indiana is supported by its members, and by corporate sponsors. If you're interested in learning more about sponsorship, please call Pat Coyle at 317 332 7878.
