2009 Halloween Howl to benefit Riley Hospital for Children

On Friday, October 16, 2009, the fourth annual Halloween Howl fundraiser will take place at the Conrad Indianapolis hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana from 7:00 p.m. until midnight. Over the past three years, this exciting event has been a huge success and has raised much needed funds for local charities. This year’s Halloween Howl will benefit Riley Children’s Foundation.

Riley Children's FoundationRiley Children’s Foundation is committed to improving the health and well-being of Indiana’s children through philanthropic leadership in support of Riley Hospital for Children and its research programs, Camp Riley for Youth with Physical Disabilities and the James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home. Riley Children’s Foundation is pleased to have a group of volunteers from Woman’s Life Indianapolis Chapter 611 who are busy planning to make this year’s event the best Halloween Howl yet! For more information about Riley Children’s Foundation, please visit www.rileykids.org. For more information about Woman’s Life, please visit www.womanslife.org.

Proceeds from this year’s Halloween Howl will be used to complete a much needed makeover of the Riley Hospital Unit 2A Child Life Activity room and will also provide support for Riley Hospital’s art therapy initiative. YOU can help create a safe and fun area for Riley children and also help to improve their emotional well-being.

We anticipate over 400 guests at this year’s Halloween Howl, including some of Indianapolis’ most prominent corporate and community leaders. We invite YOU to be part of this major fundraising event!

Silent Auction | Live Band | Raffle | Costume Contest | Hors d’oeuvres

Don't kid yourself, that is some fine deducing.

Hi Alex,

I just added 2+2+2 and came up with something that approximated 6. I recall reading Mickey's IBJ column a few months ago about his uncle, for whom he was named. I also used to work as the Program Director at the BJE, and the library is named for your grandparents. Then to make sure I had it right, I Googled your grandfather and found a reference to a grandchild named Alex. So there you go. Simple math, though I skipped a generation so it wasn't quite right.

Correction Ms. Kridel, I am Mickey's cousin...second or third I believe. He was the son of one of my grandpa's brothers.

Hi Brandon! Yes I am an intern at the IBJ. I split my time between art and production, editorial, and some custom publishing work. I invited more members of the IBJ and I'm not sure if they are joining at the rate I had hoped. Most of the people I work with are in art and production so I am not sure if they will dig into issues like Mass Transit. I think it is a wonderful topic as I commute from Carmel every morning. I wanted people to know about the opportunities within IBJ Corp, and that we are not just a print publication. I think that SI and IBJ together could do a lot of worthwhile "damage" to other state publications and networks and really utilize our sources and "knowledgeable folk."

Ms. Kridel you are perfectly correct! How do you know that?
Rae Kridel Comment by Rae Kridel on June 30, 2008 at 1:54pm
Alex, if I have my genealogy correct (and I might not) you're Mickey's niece and Ilene and Mickey's granddaughter.

Hey Alex. Awesome Idea, and I am looking forward to what I think would be one of the busiest groups on SI.com. Pat left you a know to what you are looking to do with this group. My question to you is will other members of the IBJ participate in this group. For example, would Tom Harton start a discussion on a topic that would be of interest to him personally like Mass Transit? By the way, are you a student intern at the IBJ?
