Making people and ideas findable

In a report made public today, the Department of Homeland Security warns that the recession and the election of President Obama are "fueling resurgence" of right-wing extremist groups that are seeking new recruits, especially returning veterans.

The intelligence assessment suggests that veterans make attractive recruits because of "combat skills and experience" that could boost the "violent capabilities" of radical right groups. Further, it says that any possible new restrictions on gun ownership, combined with vets' trouble reintegrating into their communities during a bad economy, "could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks."

Read the entire story at USA Today, VA Watchdog and read the letter The American Legion has sent to the DHS.

How crazy! My husbands a vet and doesn't like what's going on in our government but he'd no more join an extremist group. Don't they have anything better to write about? Carlotta Katra carlotta@agingavenues.com

Well, given all the anti-gun propaganda as of late, I am not the least bit surprised. Sadly, there are enough uneducated people out there that will swallow this load of tripe to give it some traction. Don't know if you saw Dateline the other night or not. It was a long article about all the trouble with guns in one very small town in FL. All part of the propaganda machine to set the masses up to take our 2nd Amendment rights away.

That's change you can believe in !!

What's the unemployment rate for Veterans vs. Non-Veterans? What's the success rate of Veteran-owned businesses vs. non-Veterans? What's the welfare rate of Veterans vs. non-Veterans? What's the incarceration rate of Veterans vs. non-Veterans?

When is someone going to come out with a report that tells the real story about those who have paid so much for this country?

Let's see. I'm a veteran. I'm pro-life. I don't have a gun, but support gun ownership. I'm for smaller government, low taxes, and dramatically reduced government spending. I also attended the tea party downtown Indy on April 15th. I guess that makes me an extreme extremist and my name probable resides on several governmental watch dog lists.
