Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

Hello Vets!

My family and I were residents of the Sunshine State prior to our fairly recent move to Indiana. The last position I held was with the Marion County (FL) Veterans Services Office. I really enjoyed interacting and assisting Veterans and their dependents. No two days were the same. I found that many Veterans are not aware of all their federal/state benefits. Unfortunately, the information they possessed was often times inaccurate or outdated. Sometimes, the information/guidance given by their buddy, usually well intended, did not apply exactly the same to them. Read online or visit your local Veterans Services office so you can equip yourself with the correct information.

Below I have attached the link to the Indiana Veterans Benefits Page. All the resources may not be applicable but good to know.

You are so right. Many veterans don't know about the Aid & Attendance benefit that helps pay for the veterans or spouses care as they age. My website www.agingavenues.com helps explain the benefit. With so many seniors having lost a large chunk of their savings many more will need this benefit to help them remain out of nursing homes.

It's also difficult for veteran's to qualify for the program doing the paperwork on their own and sometimes even with the help of the VSO. There are allowable avenues to exceed the income limits but most people need guidance with this so that they don't shot themselves in the foot if they later need long term care. I assist people with qualifing and getting their benefit in record time. If there are any veteran's out there that need help paying for assistance in their home, in assisted living or a nursing home I'd be happy to help them qualify.

What are you doing now? I could use your help. Contact me directly at 317-731-3315.
