Making people and ideas findable

A Twitter networking buddy is going to be in town the weekend of the 28th for the SPJ conference, and we're talking about meeting up at a coffee shop. I'm letting her pick the place, but I'm a transplant to Indy myself and could use some input. I know Mo'Joe is awesome, and parking doesn't seem like it'd be troublesome there. Could probably walk that, depending on how big of a walking fan she is and how the weather is that day. I know The Abbey is nice and isn't a long trek either. What other places worth a try am I missing? Thanks for the input!

The best place to check is IndyIndieCoffee.com.

As far as downtown coffee goes, I like Mo'Joe's (parking IS convenient), South Bend Chocolate Company (right on the Circle), Henry's on East, which is on the eastern side of downtown. I also like the Abbey, but it's been a long while since I've been there. There are few others that are in the heart of downtown, but they're more of a walk-up shop, not a sit down shop.

You need to check out the Earth House Collective on the corner of East and New York. AWESOME coffee house and awesome food! Check it out - wonderful place!

You know, I've never been there. Do they have regular hours?

Aww, can't believe I forgot about the Earth House! Haven't been there yet, but it comes highly recommended by several friends from Indy, Bloomington, and all the way to E-ville.

Henry's Coffee Bistro on East (just North of the intersection of North, East, and Mass). Street parking is always available. They have great coffee, good food, and local art.

You guys rock so hard, thank you!

The Abbey is now out of business, thankfully. Their service and quality got so bad that I knew it was only a matter of time.

Next time, you might consider tea - Tea's Me is at 22nd & Talbott, parking lot behind, limited hours (early morning to 2 or 3?) but fantastic teas of all kinds, rare to herbal to the basic teas. They also have a desert of some sort, sometimes a few, and they do pannini. Great ambience. I recommend it highly.

Ooh, I love Tea's Me. I wrote an article about them for a small business newspaper earlier this year, and occasionally have meetings there. I've never had their lunch though.

They can do anything with cheese, as in "anything with cheese sandwich"...turkey, ham, simple & very nice. Chips on the side, pricing OK. I just adore their rooibos teas. I'm herbal only, and Tea's Me gives me my best selection outside of my own home. Glad we're in synch!

I know I missed your date, but here is a list of coffee, tea and ice cream shops in Downtown Indy: http://preview.tinyurl.com/ounyho
