There was a place on campus at Ohio State in the mid-80's that served Buffalo style wings. It was called Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck, but everyone called it BW3. It's a chain now, but wings haven't changed.

I am a big fan of B-dubs. Have one a mile from my house, in fact. I personally like the Asian Zinger wings for flavor, though if I want the heat, they have better options.

I love that it's still called B-Dub's by those of us who know. I always kind of resented the fact that they dumbed down the name for the masses. (Weck is short for Kimmelweck which is a hard Kaiser-style roll with carraway seeds and, I think, rock salt, just in case someone reads this and hasn't the foggiest idea what that third W stood for).

I like the spicy garlic at B-dubs (BW3's).

I hesitate to bring up my favorite place for wings because people rarely believe me when I say I go to this place for the wings. Many years ago before moving to Indianapolis, I lived in Dallas and played on an indoor soccer team sponsored by... Hooters. We ate their wings almost every week after our games. And no we didn't go because of the wait staff 'cause we had to sit outside since we came straight from the games. Ok, so the cold beer might have also been part of it but I swear it was for the wings! Really.

Where is KSR? I'm assuming it's on Keystone (do I hear a "duh"?) but near what cross street?

As a fan of hotness (all kinds, but in this instance, I refer to wings), my favorite wings are at Average Joe's in Broadripple. Their tough guy wings are super hot, but very tasty. Most "hot" hot wings are just a bunch of heat and no flavor. Joe's does a great job of making sure flavor equals heat.

The best wings in Indy are no more. Due to reconstruction on US 40 "R.J. Winger's" is gone. They couldn't weather the construction project, nor the economic downturn. Will Indiana bailout a family run business that had only 2 TV monitors, so that you could turn away and not watch television during your meal? I doubt it. The pleasent nature of the wait staff and the fun decor featuring great chachci is gone. I wish I could have shared them with all of you.

Hear hear! RJ Wingers was the best place in town for wings. I was so sad to hear of their passing. A close second for nomination is Red Eye Cafe on S Meridian in the heart of the bar district downtown, across from Union Station's garage. Not the hottest, but definitely the tastiest and better than Hooter's wings which I also think are very good. Honorable mention to Just Wing'n It in South Broad Ripple.
