Lori, I concur with Joh's advice. (for what it's worth)

Lori, I think its best you wait to do a fan page until you have a product to build a fan page around such as your next novel. If you have some previous novels by all means, you should create a fan page around each of those products because it becomes much easier to focus your content for the page on the book you want to push the most. For now it is probably best to focus on your personal account's growth to use that as a base to launch a page with.

This may be kind of a basic question for you all, but should you create a fan page when you don't yet have many fans (I'm a writer and an aspiring author), or should you focus on developing your personal page, mixing your personal and professional updates? I don't know a lot about fan pages. Thanks!

I am about to create a facebook page for a Real Estate project Downtown and would greatly appreciate some comments and feedback from this group. We are creating what we believe is the first Smart condo/conversion in a Historic Neighborhood.I am trying to create an interesting dialoge without being a self serving commercial..Informative, intersting without being intruding...All replies and points of view are welcomed and respected

I have a profession portfolio, a Facebook, a Smaller Indiana, and a hobby presence that I am trying to weave together into something greater than the parts. It looks like I'm not the only one with that goal in mind. Good info. Thanks.

Hi Everyone, I am the owner of a small teaching shop in Arcadia, Indiana, enabling people to come up and learn how to make ecofriendly laundry soap, their own perfume sprays, lotions, and candles. As part of the Arcadia Arts Initiative my purpose for posting is three fold. To find out about marketing on facebook, to let you all know about the shop in the event you'd like to come up and take a class, and to let you know about the Arcadia Arts Initiative. if you are an artist who is looking for economically priced studio space to practice, teach an aspect of your art, move it out of your home, and have a shop on main street, contact the arcadia arts initiative (google search) in indiana for an application.

Hope to see you at the shop! Make a perfume or linen spray! 113 E. Main Street Arcadia. www.indianasoapcompany.com

Facebook can be used for marketing your product but I have found that the best business use for Facebook is to connect personally with clients/potential clients. If you can build a personal relationship with someone, even on a minimal level, you will have a better chance of doing business with them. If you dont hammer people about your product or talk business 24/7 on Facebook then it can be successful. People on Facebook dont go there to "do business" but you can use it to your advantage no doubt.

I use facebook as a social networking tool, I did not realize the business networking potential. In my eyes, I feel that Facebook would be a decent marketing technique for businesses with a Product to sell which has a target market of someone in high school up to age 29, but is it a very good option for creating business to business relationships/clients?
