Smaller Indiana

Making people and ideas findable

I am slowly getting involved in our Smaller Indiana Dreaming and Planning for Women group.
I want to dream. I do have a successful chiropractic (and craniosacral therapy) career which I am re-energizing. I am grateful to be in a committed relationship with a man who is willing to do the hard work necessary to make it good. I have traveled. What is next? Bike lanes on Broad Ripple Avenue in Indianapolis? World peace? More fun? One tool I have used is dream boards, where you cut out pictures from magazines etc. and make a collage. Has anyone else tried this? Any other thoughts or ideas? Thank you, and have a wonderful day! e v e

Hi Eve,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with the group. Great job on a thriving career and life! As Shawn mentioned, difficult times are when our true character shows. Just remember that you're a strong, confident woman!

Thank you. I need to clarify that my ex walked out 6 1/2 years ago. I knew that I would meet someone else eventually. I thought it would take years...maybe 10-15, at least 2-3. Well...I met Michel 8-9 months later. We met through yoga and that is a wonderful thing to share. We bought a house together 2 1/2 years ago, and just got officially engaged.
I do have great friends and family. I love to travel, but money is very tight right now. I did spend a month relaxing on St. John, USVI in September.
So...I am working hard to build my business back up. I'm working on my vision for my chiropractic practice.
How about you?

Hi Eve,
That's great to hear - I'm so happy that you're sharing your life with someone you love. Congrats on your recent engagement! I also became engaged a couple of months ago and I'm in the midst of wedding planning - it's all very exciting and also a lot to do!

I am a financial planner and one of my areas of focus is working with women. More specifically, I help women in transition (i.e. getting married, starting a family, making a career change or starting a business, going through a divorce, becoming a widow, preparing for retirement, etc.) Major life events involve very important decisions and financial implications, and I can provide a lot of value by helping people to navigate through these decisions and make informed choices. I encourage women to be aware and involved in the financial planning process. When working with couples, I encourage a partnership so that both people can have input and make educated decisions. A vast majority (up to 90%) of women will find themselves solely responsible for their household finances at some point, if they're not already. This is due to a wide variety of reasons, including women who choose not to marry, women who go through a divorce, or women who become widows. Because it's so likely that women will be facing these financial decisions alone at some point, I want to help them become educated about their options and choices.

Thanks so much for sharing and asking questions - I'm glad you're contributing to our group. Best of luck as you work on your vision for your chiropractic practice. Stay in touch and let us know if there's anything we can do to help you.

Have a great day!

Laura

Hi Laura. How is your new year going? It is great that you help women during times of transition. I love working one-on-one with people and getting to know them as their chiropractor. There are some people that I have seen once a month for many years. And I also love meeting new patients. I am thinking now how I like working with children and want to keep promoting that. Where are you located? Take care, e v e

Hi Eve,

We met some months ago when you and your friend Michael were meeting Ron Sukenich. I tried emailing you, but the address on your card didn't 'compute' (sorry for the pun). Anyway. . .glad to see you here.

Hi Linda! Thank you for reconnecting. I am not always good about following up on meetings. In fact, I am just learning how to do that. Ron certainly knows a lot of great people. I see him fairly regularly. I have been networking a lot and my chiropractic business is picking up, so I am grateful. How is your New Year going?
take care, e v e
